Keeping the Castle

National Creative Frugality Week

January 23, 2006 by Maricar

This week, January 22-28, 2006, is National Creative Frugality Week, founded by Nancy Twigg of CountingtheCost.com.

Occurring one month after the week of Christmas, this event encourages those who overspent and even those who didn’t to have fun as they experiment with new ways to be resourceful and make their money go farther.

Ms. Twigg gives 5 ways for you to jumpstart your frugality this week:

1. Record everything you spend.

2. Cut down on extras.

3. Postpone spending.

4. In addition to saving, look for ways to make extra money.

5. Enjoy free fun, like reading a book.
