Review: Gloves in a Bottle

Shielding lotions seem to be the newest technology in hand care. Gloves in a Bottle is one such lotion that promises to protect the hands from harsh environments.
According to the company website:
Unlike artificial moisturizers, Gloves In A Bottle is a shielding lotion that bonds with the outermost layer of skin cells to turn it into what works like an invisible pair of gloves.
These “invisible gloves” prevent dry skin by helping to keep moisture-robbing irritants out while better retaining your skin’s own natural moisture, resulting in skin that is far better hydrated, over the long term, than what can ever be achieved by conventional lotions.
After using Gloves in a Bottle for several days now, I can say that:
* It does offer some protection from dryness caused by exposure to harsh soaps and hot water.
* It doesn’t absorb as rapidly as I hoped/expected, taking several moments before all the lotion ‘disappeared’.
* While I noticed some improvement in the appearance of my skin after application, the change didn’t last four hours as claimed. I had to reapply long before that.
