Review: Member’s Mark Automatic Dishwasher Gel

Filed under Product News and Reviews

This is the third dishwasher detergent I’ve reviewed here at Keeping the Castle (first Cascade Complete, and then Palmolive Gel). Member’s Mark is the value brand available through Sam’s Club. This review is for the Automatic Dishwasher Gel, Citrus Scent, with spot protector. It promises to give “virtually spot-free dishes”.

In general, it does just that. Sometimes, I’m not able to pre-rinse dishes well. Still, my dishes always come out satisfactory. There may be a spot here and there. But the dishes are always clean. For a dishwasher detergent that doesn’t contain enzymes, it does really well.

I have used Memeber’s Mark automatic dishwasher soap for about a year. It works just like a name brand. I recently bought some new stainless steel flatware and it says do not use a dishwashing product that has lemon in it as it might carrode the flatware. Does anyone know if “citrus scent” is the same as lemon or lime extracts added? Could it be just a chemical that makes it smell citrus?
