Review of the Pasta Pronta

Pasta Pronta is a set of gadgets that promise to make cooking pasta easier. Here’s HSN’s description of the product:

After all, your attention is probably needed elsewhere.
Does it work as claimed?
The staff of San Francisco’s ABC7 aimed to find out. They took the device to Chef Keith Hammerich of the San Francisco City College. The verdict:
* In the beginning, there are a couple more steps involved than with traditional pasta cooking.
* It did cook the pasta off the stove.
* However, according to Chef Hammerich: “It’s actually taking longer to cook with this.”
