Sometimes Low-Tech Works Best

There’s a little corner in my kitchen that’s prone to collecting dirt. It’s right beneath the lazy susan, beside the oven. That corner of the floor sometimes gets neglected when I sweep, especially when I’m in a hurry.
Today, I had enough of it, dropped a wet rag on it and scrubbed it clean with my foot.
Easy. Clean. Done.
I do have a Swiffer mop, but sometimes low-tech does a better and faster job.

I hate those little areas that collect dirt — you have unfortunately reminded me that I should make an effort at cleaning these areas today. Man. But I do agree about the Swiffer. I have one but usually just use old towels, hot H2O, and soap. Better and cheaper.
LoL… I know what you mean. I love all my cleaning gadgets that are supposed to make our lives easier, but every once in a while, a simple rag does the trick just as well. But gadgets are just soooo much fun
oh i do that too. sometiems you just gotta get down and scryb really hard to get the job done right.

Jennifer, sorry about that.
Our grandmas used hot water and soap for years, and they worked perfectly.
SP, I know what you mean about gadgets. I can resist iPods but kitchen gadgets are just too exciting!
Hi Dexie, ‘course I don’t mind. My 7 random facts will be up soon!
I was wondering does anyone know if the swiffer mop can be used on commercially waxed floors? I work at a daycare center- I teach the toddler room 21/2-3yrs. old, I have 12 of them so you can imagine the mess at the end of the day… We just had the floors comercially stripped and waxed, they look lioke new, and well I want to keep them that way- any tips?
