I was making coffee today and just realized something – I have never cleaned my coffeemaker.  I’ve only been using the coffee pot for about six months and I don’t drink coffee as regularly as some people, but it certainly is time for a cleaning!

25 Ways to Clean with Vinegar

Over the past year or so, I have become quite a fan of vinegar.  I have learned that it cleans very well, is inexpensive, and safe for your family and pets.  Here are some of the ways to clean with vinegar:
1.  Add 1/4 cup vinegar to laundry, along with the usual soap, to brighten colors and make whites sparkle.  Also helps kills athlete’s foot germs on socks.
2.  Soak or simmer stuck-on food in 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of vinegar.  The food will soften and lift off in a few minutes.

My Favorite Fabric Softener

I’d like to introduce you to my favorite fabric softener. Meet white vinegar.  There are a few reasons why white vinegar is my favorite.
1)  It’s cheap.  You can buy 2 gallons of the stuff at Sam’s Club for about $3.40.
2)  It doesn’t aggravate my skin.  I have eczema and extremely sensitive skin.  White vinegar isn’t harsh.  There is no fragrance left on your clothing either.
3)  No waxy build up.  Unlike other fabric softeners, vinegar doesn’t leave a waxy residue on your clothes.  This makes towels and cloth diapers more absorbent.  Plus, you don’t have to worry about that waxy issue …read more
