Just like gourmet foods, the best tools are now available to any cook with online access. You no longer have to wait for your corner grocery store to order them for you. The trick is to find stores with a great selection of products and a website. You can shop these stores even if you’re hundreds of miles away.
At the Art of Cooking store in New York City’s West Village, there are not a lot of selections but they are billed as the best. Owner Kate Humphrey’s philosophy is that “gourmet cooking and stylish entertaining are not difficult and can be made accessible to everyone through use of the right cooking tools and accessories.”
By searching out the best item for every need Kate eliminates the clutter found in many large stores and makes shopping decisions easier. She is also able to buy from start up vendors not found elsewhere making a beautiful serving piece or hand milled bowl a truly unique find. Kate has a knack for choosing stylish pieces that tantalize the eye and frequently get covered in the culinary press.
Celebrities like Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Julianne Moore and Hilary Swank are said to be regular shoppers at this store.
I browsed around the website and found these cool items:

These Enamel Citrus Squeezers/Juicers are made of cast aluminum coated in colorful and durable enamel. Available in lime, orange and lemon varieties.

My husband will love this. It’s a Kuhn Rikon Corn Zipper, made for easily removing corn from the cob. It’s made of stainless steel with sharp blades that remove two rows of kernels at a time.

This is a 2-disc food mill. The two discs give you a choice of either fine or coarse texture to the final product. You can use it to make our own baby food, tomato sauce, apple sauce, etc.
