There are ways to make even the tiniest of rooms seem more spacious and uncluttered.
Here are some ways to start:
* Keep items off the floor as much as possible.Use hanging lamps (instead of floor lamps), furniture without any skirts, and glass-topped tables.
* Use only two or three colors in the room. Use one color for walls, ceilings and larger furniture, and a second color for curtains, rugs, and small furniture. Finally, a third color can be used as an accent in pillows and other accessories.
* Place large furniture against the wall furthest from the door so it doesn’t break up the sight lines.
* Use area rugs to define spaces.
