House repair is no longer the sole domain of the man of the house. More and more women are taking hammer to hand and tackling home maintenance and home improvement projects.
Tool manufacturers are taking notice and providing women with just the right tools. Lightweight and small are the key words. And, fashion is not forgotten either.
Some examples:
- 8-ounce or 13-ounce hammers (compared to the traditional 16 to 24 ounces), by Oxo Good Grips, and Stanley
- tape measures in various sizes to fit every hand, such as the Workforce Color RUles Tape Measure available at the Home Depot
- ergonomically designed power drills, like the PowerMaxx by Metabo Corporation
- compact safety glasses in designer colors, by AOSafety and Echo
