Tupperware in the Spotlight

What homemaker hasn’t heard of Tupperware? My siblings and I grew up with the unbreakable tumblers (color-coded for each kid!). I learned early how to burp the lids. I was aware of the product’s lifetime guarantee long before I could spell the word “guarantee”. I heard of those who purposefully threw their Tupperware containers against a wall so they could get new ones. As far as I’m aware, no one actually succeeded in breaking one this way.
Tupperware has revolutionized homemaking. Even Queen Elizabeth herself is said to store her breakfast cereals in Tupperware containers. The company has come a long way from its Depression-era origins. A documentary has been made about it, titled what else but Tupperware!.
Next in line is an Off-Broadway play called “Sealed for Freshness“. It is a comedy that “taps into the lives of five women at a 1960’s Tupperware party gone awry”. The show’s opening date is on February 24, 2007, with a preview on February 15, at the New World Stages in New York City.
This just shows that even the most mundane thing in a homemaker’s world could be the next buzzword, and stage play.
