Here we are for another Works for Me Wednesday? Where did the week go?

Today, I’d like to tell you about a little system that I have in place for my daughter. Alligator girl is 5 years old and since she was 14 months old, she demanded to pick out her clothes each day as well as her diaper. At that young of an age, I learned to set out only two choices each day. Now my little one wants more than two choices. I have decided that to avoid morning time conflict, I will have several outfits for her to choose from.

Having several outfits for her to choose from was quickly becoming a pain. I finally figured out a way for her to have outfits waiting for her each morning. She has these metal racks in her closet, kind of like Yaffa blocks. I had designated one of the cubes as a place for her outfits. Each week, I pick out some appropriate school outfits (depending on the weather) and put them into the bin. Then throughout the week, she can choose her outfit, depending upon what she feels like wearing that day.
This little system has saved a lot of arguing and drama in the mornings. It works for me.
Do you have a system for organizing clothing?

I should try this with my girl. She is going to preschool soon and I’ll need to avoid the morning argument over what to wear.
Too funny! I actually do something very similar with my boy’s outfits (although it is more for me than it is for him!) I have one of those stacking dividers and I place appropriate outfits in it at the beginning of the week and he gets to decide which one on which day. But I might have to convert to your idea if he starts to not like my choices! Thanks for the great idea!
This is a practice I do for my whole family while doing laundry including myself. Now that they are older they may not like the outfit but so much more organized to be able to just form another outfit
I do something like this with my granddaughter, also. She has only recently began to want to pick out her clothes for school. We made a deal. If she picks them out the night before then she makes the choice (I always reserve the right to override if necessary), but if she waits until the next morning, I pick and no arguments. I hang sets together or fold them and place in a canvas clothing holder that hangs from the closet rod. I also have found the tree hangers that hold several items good for denim shorts and capris that can be worn with any tee.
