WFMW: Wet Bathroom Floor

I have a little problem in our bathrooms.
Everytime someone showers, the floor ends up getting wet. I noticed that little puddles form on the floor at the shower end of the tub (and sometimes on the other end too). So it looks like it’s a case of water getting through the edges of the shower curtain.
I always adjust the shower curtain to try and seal off the space as much as possible. I also adjust the shower to point away from the outside of the tub. But there are still leaks (and puddles).
Any tips?

I’m having the same problem and my floor’s not sealed right and it’s ruining it! I’ve started laying a washcloth on the side of the tub at the corner. It’s not a real fix, but it’s working.
We have a shower curtain liner that has suction cups on the side-edge. This keeps it attached to the wall of the shower and makes for no puddles (as long as my 9 yo son remembers to keep the curtain inside the bathtub!)
Wow, I like that suction cups on the edge idea – I’ve never seen those!
If you have a tub that’s metal under the paint, the magnet-bottomed shower curtains are a big help.
I second the shower liners with magnets if you’ve got the tub for it.
My kids aren’t always too good at pulling the liner completely closed though, so I have them lay out an extra towel or two on the floor in front of the tub before they get in. Not a long-term solution but it helps for now!
Throw down some extra towels or use extra large bath mats. You can hang them outside to dry afterward.
I’ve used the magnet ones too. Usually they are on the shower liners (which I’ve been known to use alone at times.) They help, but the towels go down anyway. I have kids who like to play!
I have shower doors, so I don’t get that, but I do keep a bath rug in the floor in front of doors to soak up what the kids didn’t dry off. We have ceramic floors that get really cold so it helps that too!
We had a plumber out for that recently, he told us that our tub was not designed for shower curtains but should have glass doors. Ugh!
My mom was having that problem and even leaving a washcloth on the floor. It turned out to be her caulking around the top of the tub, bottom of the shower wall. My brother re-caulked it and VIOLA, fixed the problem. Good luck.
Make showers optional?
Just kidding. I don’t think the magnet deals work too well. I just throw more towels down and use them for a week before washing.
They aren’t very pretty but they do sell triangle-shaped plastic things that you can install where the tub and the wall meet. They are supposed to hold the water in. We may be resorting to that after having to replace drywall in our bathroom – ug!
Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions! I will look into them, and hopefully get rid of the puddles once and for all.
