What Cranberry Sauce Should Look Like

I’ve tasted a lot of cranberry sauce in my time and while I wouldn’t turn down ANY cranberry sauce served, I do like this texture. I like the solid berries and believe it or not, you can actually order the stuff for thanksgiving from Saks! Unfortunately, it wouldn’t really work in our household because no one will eat it except me and now my son’s girlfriend. She loves it too and actually gave me a tub of her homemade cranberry sauce that I plan to use on a turkey sandwich with stuffing for lunch today.
*I think she’s a keeper lol…

So here’s today’s question… what is your favorite cranberry sauce??
*your own recipe
*jellied
*whole berries
*as long as someone else makes it.

I’d love to try some homemade cranberry sauce. Do you have a recipe to share?
Sounds like your son did find a keeper.
Make my own. It’s so incredibly easy and you get loads of credit. There are a ton of recipies out there on the internet, or use the one printed on the fresh cranberry bag labels. They essentially are cranberries, water, sugar and various flavorings of your choice (orange, ginger, spices, etc.). You throw the ingredients in a pot and simmer for a short while. End of story.
Thrifty Karen… Actually it is my husband who is our resident chef and he makes a small batch for me. As L. Hernandez mentioned, he too uses the recipe that comes on the bag of frozen cranberries. He sweetens it just a smidgen and occasionally will get fancy if he thinks of something. To date I think I liked the one with grated orange peel the best.
L. Hernandex… have to admit, I’m loving the recipes where you get to add bits of whatever appeals to you. My son’s girlfriend had thin slices of pears in hers. It was almost a syrup consistency but really good. So, you are right, there are dozens of recipes out there to try.
All Holiday Cafe… thanks for stopping by. I will be over to visit OFTEN!
I get a bag of cranberries, wash & pick through add a little water and almost no sugar put on the stove and sit back and listen to them pop
Definitely a keeper. I like the whole berries. I also like the berries in muffins. Yum.
