When a Toaster Oven Works Better than a Microwave

The almighty time-saving microwave is not always the best option when heating food. Sure, it will heat up or cook practically anything, but the results are not always the best they can be. A better option is a toaster oven, especially for these four food items:

* chicken nuggets

* pizza

* hot dogs

* quesadillas

Both the nuggets and pizza become soft and soggy in a microwave. A toaster oven results in a crispy crust for both. Hot dogs are prone to exploding in a microwave, while the cheese in quesadillas doesn’t always melt evenly.

    We have always had a toaster oven, until ours died about 6 months ago. I loved having Pampered Chef mini-bar pans that were perfect for the toaster oven. You could bake 6 chocolate chip cookies in the toaster oven – perfect for an afternoon snack! Yum!
