Your Thanksgiving Menu

The Thanksgiving menu that I grew up has changed over the years… primarily because I married an Englishman who brought a lot of his holiday dishes with him. No, he never celebrated Thanksgiving in England, so we pretty much have two British Christmas dinners, except for the traditional dishes that I want included. So, that’s my question to you today… has your traditional menu changed from what it once was?? And tell us your favorite dish and the one you really can’t stand. For me, its brussel sprouts. They are horrid, but my kids out-vote me every time. Can you imagine… kids who love brussel sprouts?? And neither of them like pumpkin pie! Something definitely wrong with their taste buds! So, tell us about your menu!!

Our menu hasn’t changed much..because my mom hated to cook so I have done thanksgiving dinner since the first year I was married.
turkey
sage stuffing
creamed greenbeans
garlic mashed potatoes
bourbon sweet potatoes
brussels sprouts sauteed with lemon and pistachio
Fruit salad
homemade rolls
homemade cranberry sauce
Pecan Praline cheese cake
Pumpkin pie
Chocolate torte
Dutch apple pie
Some other dessert to be decided…We are serving 18 or 20 this year, not sure who all is coming.
I liked brussel sprouts as a kid. I thought that they were cute and yummy. I also used to eat everybody’s mushy cooked spinach at school. I did that for a dare, though.
My favorite parts of the menu of are the stuffing, the mashed potatoes, and the sweet potatoes. As long as I’ve got those, I’m set.
