Kettle and Cup

A Cool Idea

If you have fresh fruit on hand cube it up and flash freeze it in a single layer on a baking sheet.

Once it is frozen you can put it in storage containers. Rather than reaching for the ice the next time you are making a glass of sweet tea just add a few cubes of the frozen fruit.

Nearly anything works:

  • watermelon
  • cantaloupe
  • strawberries (leave whole)
  • peaches
  • plums

Rather than watering the drink down as it melts it adds a burst of flavor and it looks really good too!

LOL Marye, I’m from CA we don’t DO sweet tea.

We do use frozen fruit in smoothies though. I have also been known to freeze fresh fruit with juice in my bundt pan as an ice ring for punch.

I am sorry, Ginger, I had forgotten that Californians were heathens. Forgive me?

    ;D
