Chocolate Raspberry Bliss Tea

One of my favorite fruits is raspberries, and the combination of chocolate and raspberry really is pure bliss to me. I was amazed to find that Celestial Seasonings had come out with a caffeine free tea called, Chocolate Raspberry Bliss. Amazed? Intrigued.
So I bought it. The box is gorgeous, really, although unusual for them because there is no artwork on it, merely design. It reminded me of a Stash tea box because of the way it was colored. In place of the artwork was a damask design light burgundy over dark. Very Victorian.
So…I brought the water up to the boil and put in the bag. The aroma of heavy, cloyingly sweet raspberry -chocolate filled the room. It wasn’t a bad smell at all but heavier than I expected.
The liqueur was brownish and cloudy. I added sugar.
The first sip is very strong chocolate with a raspberry aftertaste, much like a devils food cake with raspberry jam in the middle might be. It doesn’t have a chemically taste at all, and that surprised me a little because often cherry, strawberry, and raspberry do not carry over to tea well..This did, it was great. I thought it tasted more like milk chocolate than dark chocolate, though.
I wouldn’t want to drink this with anything sweet. This is a dessert tea in, and of itself, and would be great made into a tea latte. This isn’t even a tea for sharing with a friend, but more a tea to read a good book with after a particularly tough day.
Ingredients: roasted carob, roasted chicory, roasted barley, natural chocolate and raspberry flavors with other natural flavors (contains soy lecithin), milk thistle, cinnamon and dark chocolate.
Contains Gluten so if you are gluten free better stay away from this.

I tried it too & really enjoyed it. I consider it a “comfort tea”-one to pamper yourself with.
Loralie- I agree totally. I really wouldn’t want to drink it with anything .. thanks for stopping by
I am like you, Marye, I love the boxes, too. If the box is pretty or interesting, and it is a flavor I think I would enjoy, then I try it.
Stash has a pretty, yet plain, light blue box of Blueberry tea. The aroma is heavenly and it is very good. It is also great iced and holds its flavor well.
For morning, I have found Celestial Seasonings ‘Morning Thunder’. It is just what the name claims. I love Stash’s “Christmas Morning” and was having a hard time finding something with the same taste and ‘jump start’ for the morning.– I didn’t want to drink Christmas Morning tea in July…LOL — I have found it with “Morning Thunder”! It is a strong, wake you up tea, but without the bitterness. All I add is Sugar in the Raw and I am good to go. This is my new favorite morning tea. But I will always be partial to Irish Breakfast tea.
For you green tea lovers, I have found Stash’s ‘fusion breakfast green and black’. It is from their Premium Specialty line. It is the perfect blend of green and black and has a dash of Matcha. It does contain caffine.
Thanks for the share!
I’ve never seen this tea before and I love Celestial Seasonings. Who carries it, where can I buy it? The packaging is gorgeous! I would buy it for the packaging alone, too!
Chrissy- I do like Irish Breakfast tea! Thanks for the recommendations.
Cori- I got mine at Tom Thumb, which is a division of Safeway.
good post, i know this tea and really love it.
