Coffee: Obviously Not Good For Amore

I have been on sort of a “stupid lawsuit” kick the past couple of days. It seems that I have heard of some of the most ridiculous lawsuits ever. Milking the system has reached a new level of over the top as far as I am concerned.
Earlier I wrote at 7 Babes about a weird child support case where a woman was suing her sperm donor for child support.
I decide to check into the oh-so-sensible world of coffee and the first thing I read is:
A married couple filed a federal lawsuit Thursday against United Airlines, seeking damages for medical bills and loss of affection because a flight attendant knocked a cup of “hot scalding coffee” onto the wife’s lap.
She is seeking 17,000.00 in damages and her husband is seeking 10,000.00 in” loss of companionship and affection”.
Geez. How long is she going to be out of commission? And how is this going to mean loss of companionship for him? I mean, she still can talk right? They can cuddle up and watch t.v. together? Isn’t it just that the amusement park is closed for a season? Is that really worth 10,000?
So, thoughts. Should coffee be served lukewarm? Read the rest of the article here

Betsy I agree totally, it seems our country is becoming so enthralled with money that common sense is a rare commodity.
I am appalled that the guy is complaining (suing) about lack of companionship when his wife is injured….and seeks to profit off her injury? Selfish much? What a jerk. ( and that was my cleaned up, “nice” comment)
I am sure the airline has protocols for injured passengers that would cover treating the injury. This is absurd.
