Honor Grounds Reveille Dark Roast and a GIVEAWAY!!

I would have gotten a picture of the cup but we drank it all. Sadness.
For a pre-ground coffee this was an excellent dark roast. Smooth, flavorful and with a hint of citrus in the first taste.
Of the three coffees that Honor Ground sent to me this, Reveille Dark Roast, was my favorite. I drank it black, with just cream, and with cream and sugar and in each case the coffee was delicious, and had it’s own special essence. The flavor held its own, was not stale in the least, as I have found to be the case with most ground coffees.
Saying that, the last coffee in the collection, Five Star Joe, was sadly mediocre. Very Maxwell House in the flavor and I did not care for it. If you drink the pre-ground coffees found in the grocery aisle then you may like it. It was not bad, it just wasn’t as good as the other two.
I asked Dan if there was a way that we could give away a pound of the Honor Grounds coffee to Kettle and Cup readers and he was very positive. In fact TWO lucky readers will be given coffee.
All you have to do is register at the Honor Grounds website, and share the story of your very own hometown hero. The first two readers to do that will be given free coffee and if the story is used on the back of the Honor Grounds coffee package the hometown hero will receive free coffee for a year! Be sure to let them know that you are entering for the Kettle and Cup coffee giveaway.

We could do two boxes for the contest. Maybe you could encourage two veterans to register there Hometown Hero Stories on our site and the first two would get a free box. … It only takes 3 minutes or so. I got some great ones that are posted on the website. Then I take these stories and place them on the back of the bags, the submittees get free coffee for a year…3 bags a month. Yes, they really do!!!!

I’m not sure what the blogtiquette is for this kind of thing…but you commented on my blog yesterday and I commented back with a question to you. I figured I would try you here with the question. Here it is:
And now for a total non sequitur: I noticed that you speak Farsi. I have an interest in fiction written by Iranian women (Farnoosh Moshiri, Nahid Rachlin, Marjane Satrapi). This is a long shot, I know, but if you have any authors you could recommend to me, I would love it. I can’t read or speak Farsi, so they would have to be either written in English or translated. Sorry Melanie for not getting back to you on your blog..I have not made the rounds today! LOL! I do not speak farsi..I was a czecheslovakian linguist in the military, however my husband was an Iraqi linguist and he does speak it. I am not sure he could advise you, though.
His was mostly limited to military terms rather than literary.
