Kettle and Cup

Over the past few days I have realized (once again) that I will never divorce Marc, no matter what he does.

Why?

Because I have not had a cup of coffee since Thursday.

Thursday morning I dropped Marc off (he can’t drive anymore because of his meds/seizures) about 30 minutes southwest of us at a conference for the Royal Rangers commanders.  As I was driving I sipped on the perfect coffee he had created in my to-go cup….hot, rich, creamy…just the right combo of milk and stevia…scalding and perfect.  Little did I know that it would be the last coffee I drank until Sunday afternoon after church when he will again be performing his most important duties in our marriage.  Making me coffee.

I have no clue when it started.  I used to make coffee..I know I did.  But at some point he began making it, bringing it to me at my desk or in bed if I was not up yet…

And at some point, although I do all the other cooking…I stopped making coffee.

Now, we both know I could hie my happy self into the kitchen and do the deed.  But we both also know that it would not be nearly as good as when he makes it.

I pick him up in 11 hours and 30 minutes.  I wonder if I take the pot with me if he can make me coffee before we leave camp?

Oh. for real, there is nothing better than a first morning cup of coffee prepared with love by the person you love. I totally agree!

    yeah…it is. :)

That’s sweet. And I agree completely, even if you could make it taste the same…it wouldn’t taste the same. I can’t explain *EVERYTHING* that I’d like, so I’ll leave it at that. It’s a beautiful ritual.

I love it when I drop in too, because your posts always wonderful. :) I’m quite thankful for you. I wish though, that I could keep my head together and say my thoughts clearly when I reply to your posts. They just make me think of soo many things. :)
