Kettle and Cup

Saturday Shopping with Marye

I have been looking at tea cloths this week.  I think that table cloths give a great, finished look to a table and I love them but I don’t use them…LOL! I have seen people make pillows and curtains and all kinds of way cool things with vintage tablecloths but I have never made anything with mine. Yeah, they are sitting in the cupboard waiting for something..I am not sure what yet.

If you need something vintage to wear to your next tea..AND you have a bank account that will allow it check out The Frock.  Gorgeous antique dresses!

I like collecting vintage linens. They just look good on a tea table, don’t they? I loved this rose tablecloth from Fine Vintage Linens.

If you prefer the cabin look to the cottage look you will really appreciate this cloth with the pinecones from Retro Redhead.

This vintage Arts and Crafts tea cloth is …sigh…gorgeous.

O.k..This is not a tea cloth, nor would any nice lady wear it to a tea party but when I saw it I thought of Ivory Spring.  A hand crocheted, vintage nightgown yoke.  Just gorgeous!

Beautiful cross stitched tablecloth with a matching runner…I know that computers and gadgets have..”made our lives easier” but it seems we are so busy having it easier we don’t have time for beautiful things anymore. Can anyone give me an Amen on that?

I am guessing this morning glory cloth is from the 1930s with the pink/aqua/yellow color combinations. It is gorgeous.  I am thinking of a leisurely tea with croissants and fruit.

I don’t know about you but I love Art Deco.  This cloth is classic early art deco, yellow and white with stylized deer around the border.

You gotta love Blue Delft anything.  This is a sweet cloth for a blue and white theme.

And this one. Hand made, cross stitched, crochet embellished. Sigh.

Someone asked me why I did these Saturday posts.  I don;t get anything from them, I just like to share the cool stuff I am seeing, and maybe introduce you to a new shop that you didn’t know about.  You know, people with addictions like to get other people involved, right? ;)

Have a blessed weekend.  See you monday!
