As I said in the blog roundup post I am having some trouble staying cheerful today. I am generally pretty good about it for the most part but for some reason the day seems to be blanketed with a cloud of liverwurst…and as Anne would say, “Oh Marilla, I am in the depths of despair!”
So I thought I would see what cheerful things I could find! I decided that salt and pepper shakers were just the thing.
I like collecting salt and pepper shakers because they are inexpensive and the ones from the mid 20th century are so humorous sometimes!
Look at these cute monkeys!
I love these elves from the early 50’s. Someone I knew had some like them because I remember seeing them..but I can’t remember who it is/was!
Do you remember Heckle and Jeckle? I think I would laugh everytime I used these if they were mine!
Check out this KitchenAid salt and pepper shakers.
Why were mushrooms so popular in the 70s? I have no clue but these Hull Mushroom Salt and Peppers might give you an idea!
The elephants brought a smile to my face as well.
I have this set of shakers!
These aren’t cute, but I just like the texture of hobnail milk glass, you know?
Penguins!
Awwww…Look at these Kissing Squirrels!
Do you collect shakers? Which was your favorite?

Ooooh. I like the blue and white guy and gal you have! Very cute.
Glad that you’re keeping your sunny side up with all these great salt and pepper shakers. Those Cape Cod ones are very elegant.
Thanks Ginger, I had gotten them for the tea room and someone swiped them! Marc replaced them from ebay.
Thanks Vee, I like that pattern!
