Kettle and Cup

Starbucks Peppermint Mocha

So the new computer, Marc and I are sitting in Starbucks even as we speak…yes! It is LIVE from Starbucks..It’s KETTLE & CUP!

I am sipping the peppermint mocha…my second.  We will get to that in a minute.

The first one I ordered was awful…seriously weak. I thought it was just me, but I tasted Marc’s caramel macchiato and it was terrible too.  Uh oh.

I am generally not a complainer but I am working on being a little more…uh…obnoxious confident.  I let them know that they were bad and they gave us new ones.

These are a little better but I am not impressed.

The peppermint mocha is weak and watery..lots of peppermint flavor but weak on the coffee.  There is a powdery texture that coats my tongue after I swallow.  I won’t be finishing this..it isn’t worth the calories, although it is better than the first one…

My thought is that the peppermint should be toned down a touch and the mocha should be intensified a touch for a nice balance..and whatever that powdery thing is?  They need to lose it.

Not recomended at all.

Well shoot! I was going to get one Saturday. Okay, I won’t; I’ll stick with Timmy.

LOL Vee! Sorry…I will say that it was kind of fun sitting there doing the review as I tasted the vile stuff…

Very cool to do the review in the Starbucks. I wouldn’t have been ordering a peppermint anything even if you gave it rave reviews, but I realize i am in the minority.
Did you notice what the coffee of the day was? Maybe that was the problem.

    Marye,
Your review of the Starbucks peppermint mocha from you table in the shop is a prime example of the speed reputations are created, good or bad. Also a good example of Web 2.

I am a competitor of Starbucks, supplying many cafes and coffee houses. Poor reviews can effect not only the demand for the product reviewed, but demand for the entire industry, so I’m leary. But it is what it is.

Our folks in the plant supplied me with three Chocolate Mint coffees. Here are the links:

    Dear Bob,

All on http://www.KMOCoffee.com and within the next hour Chocolate Mint will be on http://www.KMOJoe.com. The other two are already out there.

Robert is President of Kaffe Magnum Opus. His opinion about minty products I share, but I like them with holiday meals. I also like the aroma.

Robert wrote: “I can tell you that if you are looking for extreme flavored version of mint, peppermint, and chocolate blended together, you will not be disappointed. Personally, they are not high on my list, but I am not a big fan of mint items. I have had them and they taste good.”

So personal taste plays a big role in preferences.

PS: do you add to the list of coffee blogs over time?

Nope I didn’t look…but it was really weak..unusual for them.

We have had nearly a complete barista turnover..and I miss the old ones. :(
