That is a long name for an awesome coffee. I have reviewed Archer Farms coffees before. They are Target’s store brand and I have been impressed with the quality of the special reserve coffees.
I found the La Violeta to be complex with a distinct, rich chocolate flavor that developed smoky undertones in the aftertaste. It is a mild coffee with a bright acidity..and the aroma is as rich as …ummm…it is rich. Really rich.
In fact, if I could only describe this coffee in one word that word would be….rich. Luxurious in the mouth the various characteristics develop slowly as you [...]
Post from: Kettle and Cup

This is one I really liked a lot and will get again for sure.. It would be a great finish to a flavorful meal, and accompaniment to a rich dessert, or black with a dollop of sweetened whipped cream floating on top…

Or, just have it with your plum & white tea scones like I did this morning! Fantastic.

Wow! Is it morning yet?
This coffee was fantastic! I am a morning person, I admit it. Miraflores is a morning coffee for morning people. Seriously. If you hate mornings do not drink this before one o clock.
The beans are very oily and dark. The fragrance when the bag was opened totally enveloped the kitchen. And the smell of coffee brewing was fabulous. The coffee, when poured was dark and rich looking. SO far so good, right?
I drank it black. The notes were bright and almost tingly on my tongue. There was no heaviness to it, no lingering aftertaste…Just bright and [...]
Post from: Kettle and Cup

The beans are very oily and dark. The fragrance when the bag was opened totally enveloped the kitchen. And the smell of coffee brewing was fabulous. The coffee, when poured was dark and rich looking. SO far so good, right?

I drank it black. The notes were bright and almost tingly on my tongue. There was no heaviness to it, no lingering aftertaste…Just bright and fresh.

My daughter added cream and sugar to her cup. It took the flavors well, but I thought it lost some of the unique aspects of the black coffee and tasted like really good coffee, not particularly a standout. The flavor was somewhat muddied in the process of adding the cream and sugar.

El Salvadore Miraflores is a single origin coffee, grown high on the Ahuachapan slopes. It is described as having a cocoa flavor and nutty but that seems to me to be a line that is added to many coffees lately.

Smoky, woody, with a moderate acidity. Seriously happy coffee.

The brand I brewed was Archer Farms Reserve Roast, available at Target. It was $7.98 a pound, very reasonable, and very, very good.

I would not serve this with chocolate or heavy desserts. Main courses, grilled meats, eggs and bacon type of breakfasts…or just on it’s own…

Give it a try, and let me know what you think.
