“I get to be the barista”

“No, it is MY turn to be the barista, you were barista yesterday!”

“That’s because I make better pretend lattes than you do!”

“DO not”

“Do too”

You would think a 48 year old woman and a 25 year old woman would be a bit more adult about their toys, wouldn’t you?

So, here we are just a few weeks before Santa hits the roof and some of us are feeling the Christmas clock ticking even louder than the biological clock. If you have a tea aficionado on your list, or if you are one yourself, check out these cool Christmas Gifts.

1. Around the World in a Tea Pot

From Tea Emporium. This is an awesome gift for someone who likes to experiment with tea. Every month they get two teas from various cultures world wide.

2. Apricot Ginger Lemon Darjeeling Tea Marmalade

What a GREAT stocking stuffer! Apricot, ginger & lemon darjeeling make a fantastic topping for a warm scone on a cold afternoon. This would be awesome in a gift basket with apricot & white chocolate scones!

3. David Voll Stoneware

I believe in buying local when possible, and I am big on supporting craftsmen. When we buy cheap manufactured stuff we are choosing to put the real craftsmen out of business, we find our homes filled with disposable baubles, and we lose the freedom to buy quality items. David Voll Stoneware is made in New Jersey, and hand thrown. This set with a tea jar, creamer and sugar is just awesome! From Devotea.

4.Ingenui-tea from Adagio

A fabulous idea in a tea pot. You brew the tea and when it is ready, simply place it atop your cup. This will cause a valve at the bottom to release: crystal-clear tea flows down, while the mesh filter retains all the leaves with one of the best infusers on the market.

\

5.Code Pink Tea

If you can imagine, this is a Fair Trade Raspberry Earl Grey! It sounds delicious and worthy of place under the tree for that alone ..but wait! There ’s more! “CODEPINK tea is a delicate Raspberry Earl Grey brew of South Indian black teas from the exquisite Nilgiri region. This Fair Trade certified tea is harvested by women whose labor ensures that they receive maternity leave, health care, and fair wages. Neither they nor their children will ever be forced to work, but rather will be sustained by the fair purchase of their tea leaves.”

Fabulous! Santa would be proud.

6. Afternoon Tea

A book about tea with recipes and beautiful pictures. This is tea from the victorian standpoint rather than the eastern standpoint. A book to peruse while wrapped in an afghan, curled in a chintz covered chair in front of a roaring fire.

7 Boddum Assam 4 Cup Tea Press

A great way to make tea and filter it easily. Boddum presses are awesome! Be sure and add a tea cozy to the gift box, the presses do not retain heat well.

8. Tea Cozy

If you haven’t checked out etsy for handmade items you haven’t lived. There are all kinds of cool things on that site made by craftsmen (ummm…women) that support their ability to stay home by sharing their talents. The hand-knit cozy pictured is one of a kind but if that one is gone there are many more!

9. Chai Soap

Again, cool stuff from Etsy Shops. Can you imagine indulging in a bath and soaping up with the luxurious smell of Tahitian Vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, bergamot, and allspice? Yeah…me too!

10. Vintage Tea Pot

This one is Austrian from eBay but a quick search on Google will find tons of vintage tea pots. I love vintage things, myself, and I can’t resist antique tea things. I like antiques for a couple of reasons..I like the idea that they have history associated with them and I also like the idea that I am not creating a need for something to be manufactured, but keeping something beautiful from the landfill.

This is by no means the last Christmas list this year… There are so many very cool things out there, maybe we need to call this, List One.
