Just like the sock monkeys from the 1950s, this little guy is ready to listen to you complain or share a secret, and most of all…he is a perfect coffee date. It would be great tucked into a gift basket with a loaf of banana bread!

The holidays are nearly upon us, folks. I like holiday cups but I hate the fact that once January hits they look kinda forlorn. I think this one would work for me most of the fall and winter. I love it.

Coffee Slows Liver Damage

There is some indication that coffee slows liver damage from hepatitis according to the Reuters report I read this afternoon. In a study of 766 people with hepatitis-c related liver damage the coffee drinkers who ingested at least three cups of coffee per day had a 53 percent less chance of the progression of damage over a four year period of time than those who drank less coffee or none at all.

Interesting to note that coffee drinkers seem to have healthier livers over all according to the same report.

So, you want to detox? You probably need to just drink more coffee!

We all need a reminder now and then that we are blessed…and just how much we are blessed. Autumn always reminds me of this as the kids and I study the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving just one more time. So, this week when I saw this cup in my wanderings I knew it was going to be featured today!

I love this coffee cup for a lot of reasons. I am absolutely taken with the vivid color and gorgeous design…But I also love the fact that for every one of these cups sold the Animal Rescue Site will pay for 14 bowls of food for animals living in sanctuaries and shelters. How cool is that? Great gift idea, too.

I have a thing for John Wayne.

Sigh.

John Wayne was all that is man…at least in his movies. I have never been one of those “I can take care of myself, thank you” types of women. Nope.

Not that I can’t. I mean I have a pretty lethal right hook. I went through boot camp. I shot an M-16 and enjoyed it…I even threw grenades…. I can stare down nearly anyone.

But, I like a man that knows how to protect a woman. And John Wayne did. When I saw this John Wayne mug I knew it was going on today’s mug of the week.

Sigh. Swoon.

Can you imagine a coffee cup that cools your coffee to the right temperature almost immediately, AND THEN releases the heat back into the beverage slowly so that your coffee stayed the same perfect temperature? HOW COOL IS THAT?

Actually, it isn’t cool at all..it is warm. It may look especially good to me at the moment because I am drinking chilled coffee.

Coffee Mug of the Week

I told you I was going to to try to do this. I see so many hysterical coffee mugs that I would love to add to my collection…LOL! The one from this week is the perfect way to let your family know when to back off.

I love the retro ads with the remix sayings. I have a calender that is full of them and it never fails to give me a laugh. I would so buy one of these coffee mugs but I have so many all ready that it would just be adding to the clutter. I found this on Amazon. There are several more with different sayings but this was the one that I liked best today.

Cool Coffee Cup

I have found the coolest coffee cup ever. Well at least for today. Decided to share it with you. Maybe I will do this on a more regular basis, I don’t know.

I love Shakespeare, and most of the kids have a tolerence for it, if not full fledged love. And, as happens with many big families, once in awhile good natured insults seem to fly back and forth. Ethan, in particular, is the most likely one to break out the Elizabethan vernacular and taunt his siblings with unique descriptions of their characters.

This Shakespearean Insult mug has 30 Shakespearean insults. One for every day of the month. Take it to work. Take it to school. You will never be without a upper crust literary comeback.
