While I was in the hospital Marc gleefully let me know that the Kinetic Koffee had arrived at our house.
Did you ever try to yell when your throat was all messed up? It is not a great sound. “Don’t open it! ” I whispered at the top of my lungs. ” I need to review it!”
Meanwhile I was staring at a lovely hospital tray of sugar-free jello and some sort of broth. I didn’t want to ask the origin of the broth, either. Hospitals are foodie hell. Let’s just get that clear. VA hospitals are worse. I seriously want …read more

Equatorial Bold is more my cup of tea than the Southern Cross. Ummm…cup of coffee I mean.
This is a full city roast, closer to the dark espressos that I love.

So, you evolved from instant to Folgers Gourmet…and then to Millstone whole bean and then to artisian roast….and now, now you are thinking that maybe you would like to roast your own coffee. Great idea.
Coffee that is freshly roasted has a different flavor than coffee that is not. Even a couple of days can make a difference in the flavor. There are some awesome sources on the internet for green coffee beans, and unroasted beans stay fresh much longer than roasted.
Not only that but they are less expensive. That is a big plus, right?
Green Mountain Coffee…Ethiopian Yirgacheffe

The first coffee I brewed when the care package from Green Mountain came in was the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. The Archer Farms Yirgacheffe I had tried last winter was a big favorite and i was delighted to see another version in the box.
This was a lighter roast than the Archer Farms, the beans were dryer and lighter in color. The unmistakable aroma of citrus was there though.

Celestial Seasonings has been one of my favorite grocery available teas for years. As an artist I really love their packaging, and as a *greenie* I love the organic/Fair Trade mentality. This is a warm, fuzzy company if I ever saw one, and I know that somewhere there is someone at Celestial Seasonings wearing birkenstocks and an organic cotton shirt, and reading 19th century poetry.
