One of the things I loved about having a tea room was arranging the tea foods on vintage tiered plates.  When the business folded we had to sell all of the beautiful antiques that I I loved, vintage plates among them.
So today, I am shopping for tiered plates.  They are great for setting up a tea, for serving snacks, and for displaying small things. Every once in awhile I find one in a thrift shop&#8230;My favorites are the china tiered plates with floral motifs.

<p>So today, I am shopping for tiered plates.  They are great for setting up a tea, for serving snacks, and for displaying small things. Every once in awhile I find one in a thrift shop&#8230;My favorites are the china tiered plates with floral motifs.<span id="more-625"></span></p>
<p>I think putting cupcakes or truffles on this scalloped, rose strewn <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Serving-Tiered-Plate---numbered---L@@K!!_W0QQitemZ310065897496QQcmdZViewItem?IMSfp=TL0807101274r15618">cake plate </a>would make a gorgeous tea table.</p>
<p>A selection of fruit and cheese would be perfect on this <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-2-TIERED-SERVING-TRAY-ASSORTED-FRUIT-LUSTERWARE_W0QQitemZ120241395632QQihZ002QQcategoryZ14901QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247">lustreware piece</a>.</p>
<p>Currier and Ives AND blue transferware.  Imagine <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ROYAL-CHINA-CURRIER-IVES-2-TIERED-TIDBIT-TRAY_W0QQitemZ170238450234QQihZ007QQcategoryZ18908QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem">THIS </a>in the midst of a holiday table.</p>
<p>A pale<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Washington-Colonial-Tiered-Tidbit-Tray_W0QQitemZ180264176936QQihZ008QQcategoryZ25QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem"> pastel tiered dish </a>that would be perfect for a wedding shower, baby shower or anything spring-y.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/emmiesgirl/item/1525">Meissen</a>.  Antique. Roses. Yeah. Sigh.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/seniormovingspecialists/item/RNFenton5">Fenton Silver Crest</a> is so pretty with the clear stripe around the edge. I have a similar cake plate to this teirplate..but I think it is called spanish lace? It has a raised lacy design..Anyway..this is awesome.</p>
<p>I admit to a weakness for Art Deco and this <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/pennycandyantiques/item/RBG-09">clear glass deco piece</a> is amazing.</p>
<p>Found a cake stand I actually like better than mine. <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/countrysideantiques/item/CRL350">Fenton French.</a>.looks very much like the Moonstone pattern..I have not seen this before.  Gorgeous.</p>
<p>This <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/schocker/item/523">Limoges</a> is awesome. I love the colors. Someday. <img src='http://www.blisstree.com/kettleandcup/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Pink, scallops and roses.  I am hooked. This one is <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/gibsonhouse/item/167-E">my favorite</a>..I think.</p>
<p>So, did you see anything you liked?</p>

As I said in the blog roundup post I am having some trouble staying cheerful today. I am generally pretty good about it for the most part but for some reason the day seems to be blanketed with a cloud of liverwurst&#8230;and as Anne would say, &#8220;Oh Marilla, I am in the depths of despair!&#8221;
So I thought I would see what cheerful things I could find! I decided that salt and pepper shakers were just the thing.

O.k..we have a great sunny day and alot of window shopping to do.
One of my favorite things about the Internet is the ability to window shop with out spending a dime, any time I want night or day.  There are antique stores, auctions sites, and craft malls all available at my fingertips. YAY!  No driving, no parking, no crowds!
I was at the thrift store yesterday.  This has to be my favorite place to pick up props for my blog images. I got three vintage items for 99 cents each, plush a couple of books for school, plus a book [...]<p>Post from: <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/kettleandcup">Kettle and Cup</a></p>

<p>I was at the thrift store yesterday.  This has to be my favorite place to pick up props for my blog images. <span id="more-574"></span> I got three vintage items for 99 cents each, plush a couple of books for school, plus a book on romantic living, which I am looking forward to reading this afternoon.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/kettleandcup/saturday-shopping-with-marye/pitcher/" rel="attachment wp-att-592" title="pitcher"><img src="http://www.blisstree.com/kettleandcup/files/2008/06/vintage-pitcher.jpg" alt="pitcher" /></a></p>
<p>You will probably be seeing this little pitcher in my images alot!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/kettleandcup/saturday-shopping-with-marye/vintage-teacup-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-594" title="vintage teacup"><img src="http://www.blisstree.com/kettleandcup/files/2008/06/vintage-teacup.jpg" alt="vintage teacup" /></a></p>
<p>This is a tiny teacup.  SO pretty!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/kettleandcup/saturday-shopping-with-marye/plate/" rel="attachment wp-att-595" title="plate"><img src="http://www.blisstree.com/kettleandcup/files/2008/06/vintage-plate.jpg" alt="plate" /></a></p>
<p>And this sweet plate.</p>
<p>Now, let&#8217;s check out what else is available!</p>
<p>A <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/victoriental/item/0062">Victorian Bride&#8217;s Bowl</a> in pink and silver is amazing.  I love Ruby Lane Antique shops!</p>
<p>This pair of <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/winteroses/item/404">figural candy dishes </a>would probably not fit in the decor at my home but they are just gorgeous!</p>
<p>Can you imagine pouring your favorite coffee in the morning from this pink and white <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/winteroses/item/406">Staffordshire coffee pot</a>? Sigh.</p>
<p>I have collected Depression glass for a long time but never knew there was such a thing as a <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/ginasfancies/item/BH-0013x20Pinkx20Depressionx20Glass">mayonnaise compote</a>!</p>
<p>Think pink today, I guess.  Here is an amazing set of <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/fitzsimonantiques/item/101091">8 teacups and saucers</a>. From the 1840s.</p>
<p>HAve I all ready pointed out this<a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/sassys/item/Carltonx20Warex20Cupx20x26x20Saucer"> lusterware tea cup</a> to you? The outside is jade green and the inside is copper. I love this!</p>
<p>If you collect kewpies you will love this <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/squirrelsnest/item/41223005">child&#8217;s tea cup</a>!</p>
<p>Pink and white <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/onlyfinelines/item/8-228">Limoges chocolate pot</a> with cups. There is nothing more I can say than that!</p>
<p>Flow Blue is a favorite collectible and <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/maximillioncollectibles/item/755">this pitcher</a> is a great example! Here is <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/maximillioncollectibles/item/739">another</a> that I love the handle on.</p>
<p>So, what did you like best? I love the chocolate pot but the green and copper teacup is beautiful&#8230;I think those two are a tie for me.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=12379555">Coffee Kitchen soap</a> gets your hands clean and imagine the smell! Coffee grounds, brewed coffee and coffee essential oil. MMMMM!!</p>
<p>Have you ever checked out Ruby Lane? I love it!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/secondchildhood/item/HBA-3348">Vaseline glass coffee cup</a> is amazing!</p>
<p>This little <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/rarefinds/item/GP907-5">floral teacup</a> is almost too pretty to use..I love the scalloped edges.</p>
<p>I love the idea of having a dessert set. This<a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/whiteoaks/item/COL39"> foam green and floral antique set</a> is perfect.</p>
<p>sigh.</p>
<p>Would you feel amazingly pampered and victorian with this<a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/therosenquistcollection/item/485"> Limoges tea set</a>? Imagine a croissant and a strawberry on the side.. evenw ith tax write off there is no way I can do this! LOL!</p>
<p>Oh wow! Check <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/oldbeginningsantiques/item/JV-00262">this teapot </a>out! I love violets! Why do they not make them like this anymore?</p>
<p>The seller on this is callng it a teapot but it looks more like a <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/theverybest/item/183">chocolate set</a> to me. Opinions?</p>
<p>GASP! I told you I liked <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/theverybest/item/255">violets</a>!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/sassys/item/Carltonx20Warex20Cupx20x26x20Saucer">This cup</a> is unlike any I have seen. The coppery interior and the green exterior is just my style. (I am an autumn and those are my favorite colors).</p>
<p><a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/decotini/item/PP-169">Jadite cannister set</a>&#8230;maybe a touch overpriced but still beautiful..</p>
<p>I bought one of these <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/lambscorner/item/0875">cookie jars</a> for 2.00 at Salvation Army Thrift shop&#8230; I felt so good!</p>
<p>I love the vintage <a href="http://www.rubylane.com/shops/janshelley/item/0201-2139">refrigerator dishes. </a>They keep leftovers very organized, don&#8217;t cost much, look great and, most of all,t hey are earth friendly!</p>
<p>I really enjoyed myself..hope you did too!</p>

I mean, this is the equivalent of window shopping, right?  Now, I am not making anything off this stuff&#8230;just so you know..I only think it is cool!<span id="more-484"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5034024">DressGreen&#8217;s Shop</a> has this very cool Fair Trade Coffee based <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=11845327">Exfolliant called Your Morning Cup of Coffee </a></p>
<p>Ingredients are shea butter, coffee, vanilla oil, and other yummy things to wake you up and give you really smooth skin.<br />
Designs for Dymphna has some really cute<a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=11843993"> copper coffee pot earrings </a></p>
<p>If you knit or crochet, check out this <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=11822710">coffee and cream</a> hand dyed merino. sigh&#8230;I have two more bags of wool form our sheep to spin before I can even look at any other wool. <img src='http://www.blisstree.com/kettleandcup/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif' alt=':P' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>If you know me  you know that handmade soaps are my downfall. Well, in addition to coffee, tea, and chocolate&#8230;oh and antiques&#8230;and architecture&#8230;and food&#8230;and&#8230;well there are horses&#8230;</p>
<p>anyway&#8230;imagine a soap that smells of <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=11794056">espresso and chocolate</a>!</p>
<p>Hey, this is good for you! <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=11790293">Fast Food..</a>.but felt.  Notice the milk in the coffee? LOL!</p>
