This Is….Well….Inconceivable.

Really. You will laugh.
So after I wrote the post about Starbucks taking over the world Marc and I headed for Kroger’s to pick up a few things…Like enough food to feed the entire population of Ohio for a month.
And while I was there..I saw….
No not Godzilla. The Starbucks Chocolate. Only it was being discontinued. Now, seriously I have no clue what happened but I bought a 5.99 box of it for 1.99 and it had a discontinued sign on it.
Yep. So I bought it. Marc laughed. He thought it was hysterical. I swear I expected Godzilla to break through the front glass at Kroger’s like the Kool Aide Pitcher guy in the commercials when I was a kid…
So here is the open box. It says, Come join us in a little excursion.
Please emphasize the word…..
Little.
These are thin, small chocolates. But it is all in the flavor.
Three flavors in this box. Chai milk chocolate, dark chocolate passion fruit, and milk chocolate citron.
Chai is incredible. I love spice and chocolate. But I make chai truffles that I like a lot better than these.
Passionfruit- has a grapefruit dark chocolate taste. Not so keen on this one.
Chocolate citron- not so keen on this one either.
The texture is definitely all Hershey’s. Waxy and brittle. If you like Hershey’s you will like these. I like a creamier texture in my chocolates.
SO…there ya go…not just a news item, now you have the full review. If you can get them on sale for 1.99 a box go for it…but the original price was 5.99 and I don;t think they are worth that.

Is this similar to what Russel’s has? I know I bought a bag full of those single chocolates for my drink. I bet Starbuck’s are much better though. Yummy.
Can you share your recipe for chai truffles?
They sound good.
I have to try those, especially the chai! If my Kroger doesn’t have them, could we take about you sending me a box and I can Paypal you????
Homemom- I am not sure…
Loralie-SURE! I will get that posted early next week!
Betsy- yep I can do that if you need me to.
Thanks for the review. It makes me wonder why they are discontinued, already…hmmm..
I would love to have the chai truffle recipe too! They sound yummy!
It really is easy…basically you steep chai in the scalded cream before you add chocolate..but I will make some this weekend and get it written down.
