Virtual Tea Rooms

Have you noticed how many virtual tea  rooms are popping up all over the internet?

They carry everything from teapots to scones, custom blended tea to tea cozies.  It seems odd to me in a way, and in another very exciting.

Let me explain.

I think, in many ways it is odd that for so may of us the Internet has become literally a virtual reality. Virtual tea parties, virtual tea rooms, virtual visits from virtual friends.  For all you know I could be a short, chubby bald guy named Louie, living in a cheap motel room in Chicago and smoking stinky cigars…and as long as I said the right things and uploaded the right images you would see me as i want you to.

On the other hand I think it is exciting that people can open tea rooms without the headaches of actually opening a tea room.  When it is virtual you get  to have all the fun, custom blend the teas…even put together amazing scone mixes and treats..But you get to do it without the stress of bread molding, chicken salad going bad, or tea served too cold!

I am thinking that when the cookbook is done and Christmas is over…maybe…maybe I will reopen the tearoom in virtual form…We’ll see.  The idea intrigues me.

Whether it is a virtual tearoom or a virtual tea party,  just take some time to enjoy a few quiet minutes of taking tea.
