Our poll last month was on how much money you spend on seeds and plants for your garden each year. I just wanted to follow up on that with some ideas to help you save money in your gardening adventure.
With food costs on the rise, now is a great time to lower the cost of the food you can produce yourself.
2. Swap seeds or plants with your friends and neighbors.
4. Start your own plants from seeds.
5. Recycle your garbage into compost.
6. Buy perennials in the fall when they’re on clearance.
7. Take care of your garden tools and they’ll last longer.
8. Recycle unique items for container gardening.
9. Make your own potting soil.
Raising your own fruits and vegetables can save you big dollars these days if you do it wisely. What other ways can you think of to save money in the garden?
