Mother Earth's Garden

Dim The Lights For Earth Hour

You can join millions of others turning off their lights for one hour, March 29th. Our power was out for 2 days after the ice storm earlier this month, we made it through that so one hour should be fun.

5 things to do while the lights are out

1. Talk about ideas you and your family can implement to help conserve energy.

2. Play a board game with your children by candle light.

3. Tell ghost stories (or garden stories).

4. Catch up on what’s going on with your children or spouse.

5. Go outside and look at the stars, your garden, or listen to the sounds around you.

This summer I plan to turn out the lights, and turn off the TV as much as possible. The laptop? That’s a bit more of a challenge, but I do take it outside or on the porch and enjoy the outdoors while I’m working during the summer.
