June Garden Blogger’s Bloom Day 2008

I have tons of blooms in my garden this month. So I hope you enjoy the photos. To check out what’s blooming in the gardens of other bloggers, check out the whole list at May Dreams Garden’s June Blogger’s Bloom Day.

I showed you the last of my peonies the other day. Here’s one more that survived the storm. Most of them bloomed and fell to the ground with all the heavy rains and high winds we’ve been having. I rescued a few to bring in the house. They looked very nice in a vase on the kitchen table for several days. Here’s one last photo.

These cute little shasta daisies move around the side of the house, every year they come up in a new spot.

This cheery coreopsis is right outside my front door. I think this is Moon Beam? But please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. I love the light feathery leaves

I have several miniature roses. This one is going crazy. It’s supposed to be a peach colored climbing rose, but I think it’s reverted back to it’s root stock. It’s loaded with pink blooms. This branch is another victim of the high winds.

I don’t know what these purple flowers are called. My mom gave them to me a couple years ago. She called them purple bell flowers. I tried looking that up, and found a different flower. All I know is these flowers are incredibly aggressive, and invasive. They’ve taken over this whole section of the garden. I pulled most of them out last fall, and they’re taking over again. I think I may dig them all out and start over when they’re done blooming. There were some miniature irises planted in there, but they’ve been taken over.

If anyone knows what these plants are called please let me know in the comment section.

Here’s another shot of my cranesbill geranium, and the buttercup next to it.

My lavender yarrow is just starting to bloom. Yellow is my favorite, but it’s not quite blooming yet.

Last of all here’s a shot of my white hydrangea. This is one of my favorite flowers to press and dry.

  1. Thanks for joining in for bloom day. My peonies are long gone, so it is nice to see them again.

  2. Muum says:

the purple things? I thought they were a type of verbena – verbena bonianarsis (spelling stinks here) but that is evidently wrong. I have some, too, mine spreads but not so badly that I would call it invasive!
