I have quite a bit blooming in my August garden. I really enjoy the blooms this time of year. Most of the flowers I cut and dry are blooming right now.
I showed you some of my miniature roses the other day, so I won’t include them again today.
Most of my hostas are blooming, here’s a blue one with delicate blooms just peaking out from between the leaves.
The hydrangea is looking fabulous!
Yellow yarrow is in full splendor, I’ve been clipping, drying, and pressing some for crafts this fall and winter.

Are You Drying Flowers For Your Holiday Crafts?

You should be drying your flowers for fall, and holiday crafts and cards right now. It’s the peak season for drying flowers. From now until fall I will be drying and pressing as many flowers as I can.
Most flowers are easily dried by hanging them upside down in a space where they get plenty of air. I have an old dry sink with a bar across the top I inherited from my grandma. That’s my favorite flower drying rack.

Very Versatile Yarrow

Yarrow is one of my favorite flowers for it’s versatility, and it’s very easy to grow. It’s great for drying, fresh bouquets, or for pressing. It blooms at the end of June or first of July every year, and makes a great display in the garden too.
Yellow yarrow is my favorite, it holds it’s beautiful yellow color after it’s dried for several years. I love to use it in fall dried flower displays.
The other colors of yarrow work well too for drying and crafting. Some of my other favorite colors include purple, pink, white, and red.
