Apart from a fantastically made wedding video, the choice in background music to accompany the moving pictures made all the difference. The song is indeed magical like how my friend described it and I now understand why she loves the song. Good pick, S!

But let’s say you’ve got this wonderful opportunity to sneak in a sweet or two? Or having a couple of cupcakes reserved exclusively to the bride and groom?

Aren’t these little things adorable? I’m finding more and more reasons to love wedding cupcakes! Another idea would be to have these things act as the piece of cake — in this case, pieces are already properly “labeled” — that the bride and groom will be feeding each other during the program at the wedding reception.

I like how this set of cupcakes is especially designed for weddings and weddings alone. I hope this helps inspire you!

I’m sure for the fun-loving close friend or family member, the idea of presenting such a gift can be a good idea. It’ll create more laughs and a fond memory. It something that can show wit and lightheartedness in an otherwise formal occasion.

This t shirt can be a one of the gifts of the bride to the groom and vice versa. It doesn’t have to be especially for the wedding. It can be a gift given during their respective bachelor or bachelorette parties.

The female is actually sporting pearls and a veil while the male is beefed up in a tux. These two dogs are truly appropriately dressed for the occasion. I wonder if they know the sort of commitment they’re getting into and who’s presiding over the ceremony? I can only imagine how much effort they’ve put in planning this wedding. I sure hope that Mocha and Levi prepared more than a set of barks for their wedding vows.

I’ve known folks who dress up their pets on occasion; in shirts or some costume for Halloween or Christmas, but to dress them up for a wedding? It’s the first time I’ve ever encountered such a thing. It’s either the owners want to appreciate their pets or they just simply have a lot of time on their hands. Regardless, it’s still adorable.

I found out that this is a tradition typically associated with the American South¹ and is usually flavored fruitcake.

If wedding cakes are usually decorated white, light and more feminine, the groom’s cake takes on a more fun, elaborate and unconventional cake designs.

The groom’s cake seen above is one of the better examples of how one can look like. It takes on the funny wedding cake topper showing off a bride dragging a fireman to the altar.

Other designs can be as customized as the couple would prefer. It can be in a shape of a bongo, football or what ever shape that best suits the personality of the groom. It doesn’t even have to be fruitcake; can be in chocolate or cheesecake.

The groom’s cake is often served at a separate table from the wedding cake at a wedding reception, though it may be served as a dessert for a rehearsal dinner.²

And here’s a bit of trivia: legend has it that if a single lady sleeps with a slice of groom’s cake under her pillow will supposedly dream of the man she will marry.³ Now, that’s something interesting.

But I found out that it’s not totally impossible. Photographers can actually still make the color pop out of a black and white photo. They call it color separation, I think.

This certainly makes a more interesting photo. Not only does it offer a very artistic angle to a wedding photo, it also highlights the design of wedding gown the bride. You’ve spent a considerable amount of time (and money for sure!) on your wedding dress so I think it’s only fair that you take a few snaps that especially shows off the output of all your efforts.

A photo of the dress on the bed or on the mannequin simple isn’t enough. It’s always best if the photo shows off the wedding dress worn by the very bride who it’s made for!

We’re used to seeing couples go for the usual knick-knacks which your guests may or may not find use for and Vintage Postcards can easily be considered as such. However, there is something special about considering it. Check out a sample of a possible look for the postcard.

One of the best old wedding photos I’ve seen to date! It’s not your typical stiff, non-smiling photo but a lot warmer and fun kind. It’s a real delight to look at!

I do think that if you’d opt for something like this for your wedding favor, it can definitely set you apart. Not only is it an uncommon practice to use vintage postcards as wedding souvenirs but also is a great opportunity for the couple to personalize the message at the back. It’s definitely a romantic keepsake and will work well with weddings taking on the vintage theme. Maybe this will even save you from sending out Thank You cards after the wedding.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind keeping it should I get it as a wedding favor.

On any given weekend, the Balmoral Rotunda quite often is the centrepiece of a wedding ceremony or a popular photography spot for brides. A mainstay of Balmoral Beach since 1930.

It has historical value. It does possess a certain rustic quality that adds on to its charm. Romance abounds with just a mere thought of holding the wedding ceremony there. It doesn’t hurt that it makes a darn pretty picture, too.

I wonder how many weddings it has witnessed through the years it has been around. It’s a great wedding location idea that you soon-to-be-married Aussie couples should consider.

Today, I’d like to highlight 5 Brilliant Tips to Maximize Catering on your wedding; accommodating both budget and food choices that your guests will appreciate:

1. Ask caterers and hotels for a whole range of menus for different budgets so you can plan your own menu better. You just might find an opportunity to get choice items to replace the more boring ones and still keep it within your budget.
2. Try trimming from the dessert spread if you need more main courses. Guests are least likely to eat from the former after a full meal.
3. Consider “under-catering”. If you’re expecting 150 wedding guests, cater for a 100 or 120 but if you’re still worried about food running out, order a tray of tasty food that has a lot of carbs.
4. Trade your free honeymoon suite for more food at the wedding reception. A room is still a room, better to keep the guests well fed am I right?
5. At your hotel food-tasting, ask to speak to the chef. You may be able to strike a good deal, like a free upgrade on an entree or main course, with the chef during your little chat.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been telling you folks about the important role that wedding photos play in your wedding. I have this hope that I can share with you numerous ways in making your wedding photos the least bit common and ultimately a whole lot more personal.

Did you know that colorful stories are captured even in Black & White photos?

A bride ditching her fancy wedding shoes for the more comfortable boot with an added glimpse of a flowered stocking. Doesn’t this photo tell us of what most brides would end up wishing to do after hours of wearing heeled wedding shoes? It magnified the personality of this particular bride which wouldn’t be the case should they relied on the traditional style of wedding photography.

Though I know Black & White photography is currently being used in most wedding photos, I’m simply pointing out other ways to compose a black & white photo. The one I featured can appear differently if in color but most interesting when rendered as such, IMHO.

As you prep for your wedding, spend a little time in coming up with photo concepts and maybe you can include ones in Black & White, too. The more ideas you have, the better. Variety will help give you better options when it comes to having them printed out or included in your wedding album.
