This wedding cake is from Jacques Pastries in NH.
Ahhh… doese any one have the recipe for the icing???
Does anyone know if the border is a rope border or if it is pearls?
I love the black and white cake….I am getting married in July 2008 need to know if anyone knows what kind of flowers are on that cake and what they are made of? Also what are those little tiny silver decorations?
Thanks,
Heidi
I would also like to know as well what type of flowers the black ones are and also what the little silver decorations are??? I am thinking of those silver edible balls that you can get in the cake aisle at your local grocer.
My nephew and his fiancee are getting married this Jne and they just love this cake! She has asked me to make it for them, but I need to know what the silver “beads” are. Are they the edible silver ones? or are they just silver “pearls”?
Carol,
I emailed the original creator of this cake and this is what they told me…the silver decorations on the cake are called dragess, and the flowers are dogwood blossoms. Hope this helps.
Heidi

Is it possible to order the flowers on this wedding cake and where?
I love this cake and I am doing it for my wedding september 26, 2008 and I am having a hard time finding the black flowers and I was wondering if you could tell me where to get them or order them or what I need to do!
Thanks Kelly
Hey Kelly,
I made this cake for my nephews wedding, and I found some small black flowers at Micheals. They are very similar to the ones used. Also you could make them out of fondant with the small flower cutter, that is used to make the fondant rose centre. Hope this helps. I also used the silver edlibe beads sold at your local grocery store in the baking isle. Good luck
Can someone please help me out? I was wondering what kind of flowers are on the white cake with black flowers? I’m not sure if they’re made on fondant or if its all one piece with the little jewels? Please help, it is greatly appreciated.
The black and white cake definately has the ‘wow’ factor.
Can you supply a close up picture of the flowers as my daughter would love this cake for her wedding in 2010.
Thank you
Im making this black and white cake for my niece next June, 2010….I bought some black satin fondant and will make the little flowers out of that, I use the apple blossom cutter that came in a gum paste kit….it has the same shape, the smaller flowers Im using a smaller cutter….the border is just fondant folds….the silver beads are called dragees, which are edible, but Im not putting them on the cake…they are very hard and I don’t want someone hurting their teeth! I made a small 6 inch sample cake, covered it in white fondant, made a black bow out of fondant for the top, put the flowers on it and the folds around for the border and I actually liked it better with out the silver dragees,, and my niece liked it too.
