Budget Weddings Idea: Bridal Party buys own dress

If you have a tight wedding budget or you’re celebrating a 25th or 50th wedding anniversary, you don’t have to splurge on the bridal party’s dresses or gowns that they will only wear once.
You also don’t have to have them wearing the same style of dresses. You can do what my Aunt and Uncle did when they renewed their wedding vows for their 50th wedding anniversary (pictured above). All the children and grandchildren (women and girls) bought their own gowns to the style that they like. The only condition made on this was that the gowns were of similar shade which you can see above, they are all wearing the same shade.
According to my cousins who organised this wedding. It was so much more affordable for them to do it this way.
What about you?

I think this is a great idea
I think letting your bridal party select their own gowns is a wonderful idea! It gives them a chance to show off their own individuality and style on your special day and they can feel great about not being “stuck” with a dress they can never wear again! I am all for that! Thank you for offering us this “surprise” giveaway! It is always fun to learn new information on the blogs and participate in fun giveaways such as this!
that is such a cute idea!
What a great ideal and whats even better it worked and looked great. Everyone got a dress they liked and could wear again instead of just taking up room in the closet.
I love the idea of letting the bridesmaids choose their own dress but keeping the color in similar shade. I think we’ll see more of this in upcoming weddings. The girls look adorable in their chosen gowns. Thanks for a great giveaway!
Love surprises just like anyone else, wooohooooooooooo!
This is called learn something new every day I love this idea and i proabably would not have if I had not seen it myself
Nice idea! People get WAY too caught up in having a “perfect” wedding and they forget what it’s really all about…..love, family, friends, forever.
Boy, a surprise would be a welcome change in my mundane life. The group shots are gorgeous; everyone looks so happy! I am envious. Thanks for the giveaway chance.
I love the dresses
That’s a good idea, but for this wedding…who’s the bride? I can’t tell. :0(
Wooo Hooo Make me a winner!
I wish I had been clever enough to come up with this idea when I married 23 years ago.
How fun – and great picture!
Thanks for the opportunity!
Sounds like a great idea!
I love this idea and they all look beautiful.
I never understood why all the dresses had to look the same anyway. When I got married I wore
my mothers wedding dress and got the bridesmaids dresses at an outlet. It saved me alot
of money.Love your pictures and your blog.
This is a great idea…it’s sad when all bridesmaids in a wedding don’t wear a gown well, or just don’t like it. These gowns look so pretty because everyone has their own style and individuality. Happy faces all around!
An innovative idea that obviously succeeds beautifully, as the endearing pictures attest to.
I thought that was traditional for the bridesmaids to pay for their own dresses. Every wedding I have been in it was expected. We bought our own dresses and shoes.
Weddings are EXPENSIVE, but then I am preaching to the choir with that comment.
What oh what is the mysterious gift???
Great idea.
This looks like a great way to go. Everyone looks happy. Good luck.
Thanks for sponsoring a great giveaway
That is a great idea I can use with my daughter since money is tight me being a single mother thanks.
This is so much easier on everyone. Your friend has a dress she can use again and one she likes and that suits her. Good idea. Lovely pic!
Blogtober Madness I tell you, Blogtober mania, Blogtober pandemonium!
Please enter me into the contest. Thanks!
When I got married, I had 3 women in my bridal party… my sisters. They each bought their dresses, so I told them they could pick the dresses themselves. My only request was that they all matched. The two bridesmaids ended up getting the same dress and the maid of honor a similar dress, but unique. Everything turned out perfect!
What a great giveaway! Thanks.
Such a gorgeous group of women!
