Our One Heart

Don’t let traditions spoil your day

I am naturally quite a shy person, and I was speaking to one of my friends who is getting married next month and was encouraged by her approach. She too is shy, her “Big Day” is about vows, joining together with the person she loves unconditionally – it is not about being the centre of attention for the day. ringsinpetals.jpg

She talked to her prospective husband and decided to not follow all the traditions. No speeches, no first dance, etc anything that would make her feel uncomfortable. They agree that the day should be one that they love, that they remember with happiness. I found this refreshing as often we do what we think we should do, rather than what makes us happy.

If there is something that you are dreading then talk it through and see if you can change the format to one that you will enjoy. This is your day!
