Question: I am thinking of proposing to my long-time girlfriend but with all the worries about the economic downturn, I am hesitant to buy her a very expensive engagement ring as I would rather we save up for our future home. If I buy her an engagement ring for less than $1,000, will she think I love her less?
Find out the answer after the cut
Answer: If your girlfriend measures the depth of your love for her by the price of the engagement ring that you can afford then perhaps you should think about whether she is the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with her. There is nothing wrong with buying a reasonably-priced engagement ring. I’d rather have a house than an engagement ring that my Husband-to-be has to re-pay for a few years. The ring pictured above is less than $1,000 but still is gorgeous! I wouldn’t mind receiving one like that!
What about you? What do you think?

I bought my fiance’s ring for $200 on etsy from a vendor he picked. He loves it. I think it’s more about finding the right fit than anything else.
It’s not the ring, it’s the promise.
My fiance gave me a poem promising to love me always, along with a tiny heart necklace.
I have worn that necklace every single day since.
We’ve been married almost 28 years.
