Are you attending a black and white wedding? You might find this Q&A helpful:

Q: I’m the Mother of the Groom and my son and future daughter-in-law are having a black and white wedding theme. I’ve consulted the Mother of the Bride but she wants to wait till nearer the wedding date before making a decision on what to wear. I want to plan now as I want to have my dress made. What should I wear for a black and white wedding theme?

Answer after the jump

A: You should consult the bride. If she wants a black and white wedding, she may very well expect the mothers to dress in black.

Your dress shouldn’t be more formal than the mother of the bride. This will be difficult since she won’t choose one until directly before the wedding and you won’t know what her choice of dress is. But, you could coordinate with the bridesmaids.
