Insurance for your Wedding?

Did you know that you could actually get an insurance to cover any potential problems on the run up to your big day and the D-day itself? We didn’t get one when we got married. We didn’t really see the need for it but if you want to have peace of mind then perhaps, getting a wedding insurance is something you’d consider.

While there has been a significant reduction in the number of weddings in the UK over the last decade the cost of the “big day” continues to rise each and every year. With the average wedding now costing a figure approaching £20,000 many people should be looking towards wedding day insurance to cover any potential problems on the big day and in the run-up to the big day.
Whether you are looking at potential problems with caterers, the location for your wedding, issues with wedding gowns and wedding attire or even the weather there are wedding insurance plans which can assist in such events and payout significant sums to cover any problems. These insurance policies often cost less than £100 but even though we all hope that the day goes to plan, with no problems, this is not always the case. For a relatively minor figure you can give yourself and your partner peace of mind and cover yourself on any potential replacement costs and additional expenses which may be incurred if you are let down or there are unforeseen problems.

Wedding insurance is certainly something worth thinking about, particularly for larger weddings or if you have a large number of suppliers.
For things like supplier failure, you may be covered under section 75 of the consumer credit act if you paid your deposit by credit card and it was over £100. Your home insurance policy may also provide some cover for things like stolen or damaged gifts.
