I would like to know if you actually ordered and received dresses from Valentine’s Promise website? I have emailed them and tried to call with no luck, so I am leary to do business with them.

    Thanks for your help,
    Anita

I like the idea of adding a personalized message on the back of these. What a creative and unique idea.

  6. Wendy says:

If your ring comes at a right size for your middle finger, I say put it on your middle finger. If the ring is the right size for your ring finger, I say put it on your ring finger.

Then when the wedding band comes, well you make sure your have the size right this time and wear the wedding band outside the engagement ring on the ring finger as a ring guard.

    Simple.

But really, do what ever you like.

  7. Very creative and that picture is so classic and just amazing.

I’m actually going to Nyc next week and I’m planning on proposing right there!

  9. twin says:

The cake was well put together but what was the bride thinking. She had a look on her face as if she did like the cake. That was tacky and selfish to have a cake like that on your wedding day. Maybe it would have been better if the groom had a cake of him self………..lol

  10. Teri Denison (subscribed) says:

Christine, our photographer did this with my daughters face in black and white, and then made her eyes blue and the roses she held up to her face were red. This makes for a very unique and memorable photo. Thank you…Oh so beautiful.

  11. Christine (subscribed) says:

Hi Teri….oohhh, have you got the photo of your daughter? Perhaps you can share it with us here at Our One Heart?

  12. tia says:

dang how much was that but any ways its so beautiful

  13. Emily Wilkes says:

I agree, you don’t always have to stick to the gift registry. The t-shirts would make a fun gift I’m sure the bride and groom would enjoy.

  14. Weddings (subscribed) says:

I guess this kinds of falls under,..um,…really? It’s definitely cute, but what about the prenup? Who gets the puppies if something goes wrong? Will she get half of his kibbles? It’s just stressful to think about.

Having grown up in the American South, groom’s cakes have always been apart of every wedding I’ve ever been to. So, when Nathan and I started planning our wedding the grooms cake was one thing that we spent lots and lots of time discussing. I wanted to pay homage to one of my favorite movies. I wanted the red velvet cake in the shape of an armadillo with gray icing. Nathan needless to say was not so keen on that idea! So after going round and round about how we were going to do his grooms cake, I let him have his way. His favorite super hero is Captain America. So, our baker is going to use pound cake and carve a round shield like the one Captain America has and decorate it to match. We’re going to be serving ours at the receptions.

A few years ago my cousin got married and she and her husband are both University of Florida Alums and he’s a huge football fan. Their groom’s cake was made to look like Ben Hill Griffith Stadium. They served theirs at their rehearsal dinner.

I’m getting married in two months and I’ve got my wedding flowers all picked out. I’m so excited.

  17. Sparky says:

His wife is so boney skinny not attractive.. She needs to eat a BigMac, fries and a couple shakes

  18. Emily Wilkes says:

While the pink flowers and cakes look nice, I’m not sure about the pink wedding dress. To me, they have just always been white or ivory.

  19. Indeed, more and more interest for wedding dresses in colors other than white or ivory is becoming prevalent.

If it is what you really want for your wedding, it’s great to have the choice!

  20. Emily Wilkes says:

While I am a huge Twilight fan, I don’t know if I would want a Twilight inspired wedding. Some of the ideas are neat though.

Hello. I’d like to recommend “A Mother’s Song” from T Carter Music for a mother/son dance. The words are everything a mother would want to say to her son on his wedding day. You can listen to it here:

Hello. I’d like to recommend a great father daughter wedding dance song from T Carter Music. It’s called “Daddy’s Angel”. I found it on youtube and it’s very nice. You can listen to it here:

I am leaving this comment because I do think it is a great idea and both I and my daughter will be getting married 2010 and I think it is a great bridesmaid gift.

I will only have 1 brides made my daughter is having 7 girls.

let me know if I win the wine wipes!

  24. Kori Ellis says:

White chalk is a good addition too. It’s great for covering up any makeup marks, spills, pen marks or anything else that gets on your wedding gown.

  25. Linette says:

Oooh yeah, I forgot about that one!

  26. Now that is a beautiful dress with a nice color. Thanks for sharing!

  27. Now that is a great idea for a unique wedding. Thanks!

  28. Emily Wilkes says:

This is my kind of bachelorette party! I might seriously consider this idea, it sounds sooo relaxing.

  29. Name Tags says:

Great stuff Christine, thanks for sharing. I also agree with Diane, these are perfect for destination weddings. I think that anytime you can create some uniqueness about your wedding and invitation, people will remember it better.

  30. Unique Engagement Rings (subscribed) says:

While I’ve always concentrated on vintage clothing from mid-century, I’ve spied many an interesting earlier piece.

  31. Marty says:

My wife’s brother and sister-in-law’s daughter is getting married in MD. She really doesn’t know his daughter or future nephew. She is going to the wedding, I’m not. She will have to fly a few thousand miles and stay at a hotel for a few nights for the wedding. I’m retired, she still works. I feel guilty that we are not giving more than $150 for our wedding gift but, it is costing her/us about a $1000 for flight, accommodations, food, tips, etc. to attend. I don’t want to look cheap but how much is enough or too much for people in our position?

  32. Michelle says:

Thanks for checking out my article everyone! I hope it helped out with some of your Bachelorette Party Planning

  33. Stephanie says:

I grew up in Alabama and now live in Louisiana. I didn’t know there was such a thing as a wedding without a groom’s cake. When I got married, the wedding cake (bride’s cake) was italian creame with several intricately designed layers in white. My husband loves golf, so he had a tall chocolate sheet cake with a golf theme. It did not have fruit.

I made the groom’s cake for my sister’s wedding. It was a very large red velvet cake complete with cream cheese frosting. I am currently working on the wedding cake and grooms cake for a friend for this weekend. This groom’s cake will be a 14″ & 10″ layered chocolate cake topped with chocolate ganache and strawberries.

I think the idea of a groom’s cake is great. It gives more variety in flavors and adds a fun and personal element for the groom.

  34. Shay says:

This is a beautiful bouquet, but if you’re a bride without a lot of time, you might consider looking at http://www.rehearsalbouquet.com, they have candy bouquets made with flower petals. They’re priced really well and they come in all different colors.

    Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

  35. Bride2009 says:

If you’re looking for a way to display cupcakes at your wedding in an elegant way (sans cardboard), check out the new Crystal Palace Cupcake Tree at http://www.crystalpalacecupcaketree.com. It’s different than others because it’s made of clear acrylic, so all the attention is on the cupcakes. It’s really beautiful, and even better, it folds flat for storage (you’ll want to use it for other events as well). They’ve got great decorating ideas on the site, too!

  36. hui says:

i wear mine on my middle finger, cause my ring finger is too thin, will slip off easily

  37. bisforbunny says:

If I were Katherine, I wouldn’t have. Aunt Claire is a ’stirrer’.
