Aww, finally, Portia de Rossi and Ellen deGeneres tie the knot! But it seems that the landmark law in LA that made it possible for the two get married may be overturned. Hmm, what happens to all the same-sex couples like them who got married if this happens?
But before we think about that. I want to congratulate the two on their wedding. May they live happily ever after!
Australian actress Portia de Rossi has spoken of her emotional wedding to US talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres, saying it’s a day they’ll never forget.
The same-sex Hollywood couple married at an intimate ceremony at the weekend inside the grounds of their $US29 million Beverly Hills estate.
Photographs of the happy couple have appeared in People magazine as part of an exclusive deal in which the two talk of their love for each other.
“The love we felt from the people surrounding us, and the love we have for each other, made this the most beautiful and emotional day,” de Rossi told the magazine.
“And one that we’ll never forget.”
DeGeneres described herself as “the luckiest girl in the world”.
“She’s officially off the market. No one else gets her. And now she’ll cook and clean for me.”
The two were both dressed in Zac Posen designs for the ceremony during which they sat on floor pillows surrounded by candles and flowers, the magazine said.
After exchanging rings, the couple and their guests enjoyed an all-vegan menu and vegan red velvet wedding cake.
DeGeneres, 50, and de Rossi, 35, began dating in late 2004.
