We’re used to seeing couples go for the usual knick-knacks which your guests may or may not find use for and Vintage Postcards can easily be considered as such. However, there is something special about considering it. Check out a sample of a possible look for the postcard.

One of the best old wedding photos I’ve seen to date! It’s not your typical stiff, non-smiling photo but a lot warmer and fun kind. It’s a real delight to look at!

I do think that if you’d opt for something like this for your wedding favor, it can definitely set you apart. Not only is it an uncommon practice to use vintage postcards as wedding souvenirs but also is a great opportunity for the couple to personalize the message at the back. It’s definitely a romantic keepsake and will work well with weddings taking on the vintage theme. Maybe this will even save you from sending out Thank You cards after the wedding.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind keeping it should I get it as a wedding favor.

I think you can say I still haven’t had enough of how beautifully elegant Grace Kelly looked on her big day because, here I am, talking about it yet again.

This certainly gives us a better look at the elegant wedding dress that makes me want to get married all over again but this time, in it.

The Grace Kelly wedding dress was on display in an art museum in Philadelphia when this photo was taken. And if you visit the thread, a comment shared a few bits about the wedding dress which I also want to share with you.

According to Flickr user angelina_thera, the wedding dress was made by costume designer Helen Rose who also worked for movie studios in the US. According to wikipedia, the wedding dress was worked on for six weeks by three dozen seamstresses. Also, the veil was made by nuns from some European convent. Though, I can’t seem to find anything to support the last bit. I did, however, found more details about Grace Kelly’s wedding dress:

The wedding gown was made from antique Valenciennes rose point lace, twenty-five yards of silk taffeta and ninety eight yards of tulle. Her veil was covered with appliquéd lace lovebirds and thousands of seed pearls. (Source)

Again, if you ladies feel like taking on a vintage wedding theme and would want something elegant enough that it’s fit for royalty, sit up and take notes!

However, this will depend on the couple’s priorities; whether they consider their wedding photographs as just one of the mediums to chronicle the event or an important part of the whole thing, hence, the need to plan for photo concepts and such. The latter will require setting aside a bit of time to sit down and brainstorm, quite possibly working out a few changes on the traditional things in order to accommodate ideas which will ensure maximum satisfaction.

There’s one thing to take good photos and another thing to take interesting ones. Nowadays, with a lot of people buying DSLRs, most are impressed with how photos turn out. This gives me an idea that taking themed weddings into consideration would be a prime candidate to make interesting photos. Take for example the current rage: vintage, 50s pin-up look and recession fashion. Elements from these trends will help create texture, dimension and richness in photos. Your wedding photos will always be remembered for its artistry and personality. It can’t be denied that people truly had fun, a good sign that they all really celebrated your wedding.

Of course, this sample theme ought to match your own personality. If you feel that this one wouldn’t work for you but still would want interesting wedding photos, you can try to come up with a different theme, which suits your personality better. There’s bound to be one that will interest you.
