For the past few weeks, I’ve been telling you folks about the important role that wedding photos play in your wedding. I have this hope that I can share with you numerous ways in making your wedding photos the least bit common and ultimately a whole lot more personal.

Did you know that colorful stories are captured even in Black & White photos?

A bride ditching her fancy wedding shoes for the more comfortable boot with an added glimpse of a flowered stocking. Doesn’t this photo tell us of what most brides would end up wishing to do after hours of wearing heeled wedding shoes? It magnified the personality of this particular bride which wouldn’t be the case should they relied on the traditional style of wedding photography.

Though I know Black & White photography is currently being used in most wedding photos, I’m simply pointing out other ways to compose a black & white photo. The one I featured can appear differently if in color but most interesting when rendered as such, IMHO.

As you prep for your wedding, spend a little time in coming up with photo concepts and maybe you can include ones in Black & White, too. The more ideas you have, the better. Variety will help give you better options when it comes to having them printed out or included in your wedding album.

What are the common concerns raised during brainstorming sessions with a wedding planner? Do you provide personal input when contracting a professional wedding photographer? What are the elements about your wedding you want to remember and be remembered by?

Take a shot at an answer to each question and you’ll most likely understand what I mean about showing perspective through your wedding photos.

In a more literal definition, this photos shows us look at a civil wedding ceremony take at a not so common angle. Output? We are given a composition offering a different perspective on the special occasion.

This photo idea can come from the photographer you hired for your wedding or it can come from you, the subject of the event and, ultimately, the photos. It all depends on who directs the output. Will you be calling the shots or will you give your photographer free rein? Sometimes, it’s better that the bride and groom have something to say about the matter. It’s just a matter of arming yourself with photo concepts and a joint resolution on what sort of wedding photos you want to end up with. Nothing beats the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction in being part of the creative process.

Remember, we are all hoping that these photos will live on even after we pass on. It would be better if we leave photos that show the perspective you want.

It will either be by listing or referral that you’d come across a prospect. And as you browse through his or her portfolio, you can find yourself impressed with the skill and artistry seen on the photos but we have to note that outputs may vary, hence, the emphasis on trusting your photographer.

Get a photographer you know you can be comfortable with. The photographer’s skill or “eye” can only go so far as the subject and the more relaxed you are, the higher the chance of getting a better set of proofs (a collection of photos taken during the event, in this case your wedding) you can choose from. It’s also important that you see that the photographer actually likes the idea of photographing you.

By reputation and experience, a photographer can hike up their rates so it can be a good idea to explore the option of utilizing the talents of a friend who’s just starting out. The latter can offer rougher compositions compared the former, however, he or she can actually take photos of the more personal you since their photos may come out with reflections of how they see you.

Personally, wedding photos that show the real story of love and romance plus the idea of capturing poetry in stills are the best sort of picture memento. Paying attention to this bit about the wedding photos will enhance and personalize the experience of looking back at the wedding celebrations years down the road.
