Trusting your Photographer. It goes a long way in creating awesome looking wedding photos. But, as the cliche goes, it’s easier said than done. I can’t tell you how much it’s true and important. Here we are in the second installment of this series which highlights the importance of planning your wedding photos.
It will either be by listing or referral that you’d come across a prospect. And as you browse through his or her portfolio, you can find yourself impressed with the skill and artistry seen on the photos but we have to note that outputs may vary, hence, the …read more
Floristry as Individual as You

One of the key details in a wedding is the bride’s bouquet. Most, if not all, brides pay extra attention to the set of flowers they’ll be holding as they walk down the aisle. It has to be special. It has to match the chosen theme but should have an added kick in elements. In short, it should be the best ever bouquet that a woman should carry in her wedding and, yes, for the rest of her life — a bouquet that will best reflect her person, her femininity, her.
So the idea that your florist can actually whip something …read more
1 Big Reason Why I Love Wedding Cupcakes

Yes, I love wedding cupcakes! If any of the reasons I’ve previously stated in my old post weren’t enough to prove my love for them, maybe a giant reason will do?

Though I love this one particular wedding cupcake (an addition to the growing list of wedding cupcakes blogged here at Our One Heart) for a selfish reason — I can have it all to myself. So if this giant of a reason isn’t enough to convert you into getting one for your own wedding, I don’t know what else will. Don’t worry, you can keep the …read more
How to Handle Wedding Crashers

I loved the movie, Wedding Crashers but if I had uninvited guests crashing my wedding, I don’t think I’d find it funny.
At our wedding in 2001, we had our share of wedding crashers. There were 4 cousins of mine who brought along their boyfriends to the wedding (even though their boyfriends were not invited). What did I do? Well, while I did notice that these relatives of mine brought dates without letting me know (my wedding planner found seats for these extra guests but I didn’t bother to know how), I didn’t allow it to ruin my big day. I …read more
Yes, I love Wedding Cupcakes

Wedding cupcakes have featured heavily on Our One Heart over the last few years. Why?
Let me count the ways why I love cupcakes:
I love that each guest can take a piece of your wedding and enjoy it too!
I love that you don’t have to slice and package each cake slice for your guests to take home as cupcakes come in its paper wrapper! At our wedding, because our guests were so full from all the food we plied them with, they each took a cupcake home to enjoy. We didn’t have to wrap them in foil for them or anything. …read more
Wedding Proposal Idea: Doing it on TV

My Hubby may be an exhibitionist…mmm…well, with me only! LOL but he’s quite private. For our wedding in 2001, we were asked by MTV Asia if we wanted our wedding covered. They were interested in our wedding because of how we met and where we got engaged and our path to the altar (so to speak…err, write!).
Unfortunately, Hubby said no and I wasn’t really that keen to be worrying about what I looked like for the TV cameras so I suppose I’m glad that we didn’t get TV coverage
Anyhoo, the point of this is really to give the …read more

After the bridal party dancers, I think the pressure on for other couples about to get married to think of something ‘creative’ or outside the square to make their weddings memorable. I wonder if this is what the bridegroom did when he backflipped at his wedding?
The 18-year-old was posing for a photograph alongside his bride, Becky Butcher, when he was overcome with excitement and performed the backwards somersault.
Mr Andersen said: “It was a fantastic and joyous day in every sense. Becky looked gorgeous and I was over the moon.
“So when we …read more
Top 10 Hangover Cures for Wedding Season

I am not advocating that you go get roaring drunk at your friend’s bachelorette party or at your sister’s wedding. I’ve never gotten drunk at any weddings I’ve attended. I did get munted at my own hen’s night but not someone else’s. I don’t get wild when I’m drunk. I get sleepy! LOL
I don’t want to miss any of the action at a wedding or a bachelorette party I go to so I do keep my drinking in check. However, if there are times you can’t help getting drunk then you would need some hangover cures!
Here are my top 10 …read more
Luxury Weddings during the Recession

With or without these tough economic crisis, I do believe that you can still have the wedding of your dreams without starting your married life in debt. This we were able to have at our own wedding. We didn’t have a big wedding but I felt that our wedding was luxurious and elegant
What we did was trim down our guest list. We only invited 100 of our closest family and friends. You might say that 100 is a big guest list but in Asian standards, this is quite intimate. Having fewer guests meant we were able to afford …read more
