Wedding Proposal Idea: Go for a Bike Ride

This video is such a sweet wedding proposal made by Luke to Drew. The year before, they carved their names on a tree that they said they will show their previous children. Drew thought that they were only going to shoot the video of the tree where they carved their names. Little did she knew that Luke was planning for something more romantic!
When he pulled out the ring and asked to marry her, her expression was beyond wild. It was soooo heartwarming to watch videos of wedding proposals like this.
Perhaps you can do something like this for the one you love. I wish Hubby and I captured on video his own proposal to me. It would be nice to watch it over and over again : -)
Visit Luke and Drew’s website and get a fill on their lovely music!
Using Twitter to Propose Marriage

Are you and your beloved online savvy? Do you use the Internet a lot to communicate? If you do then perhaps Twitter is a good way to propose marriage just like what Greg Rewis did!
Image: Twitter
Stephanie Sullivan of W3Conversions e-mailed Friday to report that she and her fiancee, Greg Rewis, got engaged March 2 via Twitter. The couple live in different cities and travel constantly, so the tweet engagement made sense for them.
“I thought it was the most romantic proposal ever!” writes Sullivan. “And he surprised me with the ring when we met on my layover in PHX (on our way to SXSW to speak).”
Here’s the current contender for first Twitter proposal:
The proposal: “@stefsull - ok. for the rest of the twitter-universe (and this is a first, folks) - WILL YOU MARRY ME?”
Sullivan’s reply: “@garazi - OMG - Ummmmm… I guess in front of the whole twitter-verse I’ll say — I’d be happy to spend the rest of my geek life with you.”
Rewis’ justification for using Twitter rather than getting down on bended knee or using another, more modern, proposal ritual: “Screw Times Square! THIS, my friends, is the way to propose to a beautiful, wonderful woman!”
What about you? Do you want a wedding proposal via Twitter or any of the digital media tools available online?

This is such a sweet wedding proposal! Such a creative and obviously well-planned wedding proposal! Hmm, I wish my Husband did something as creative as this one when he popped the big question to me all those years ago!
Luke said:
It took me a few months, but I finally came up with a decent, original idea to propose to Cori. Using a box, wood, some cloth, some rope, a diamond ring, and a large load of sheer manpower, I made a move to seal the deal. ENJOY.
The musical score is cute too. They used the ‘another one bites the dust’ song! haha Lots of hugs and tears. I, too, was teary-eyed! I so love it!
Happy watching!

Congratulations to Luke and Cori. I so enjoyed watching the wedding proposal video. You are obviously in love. They were married on July 5, 2008
Featured Wedding Proposal: Proposing and Getting married on the same day

**STICKY: Have you checked out Our One Heart’s latest contest?**
One of our readers, Debbie Paquette shared her wedding proposal story as well as her actual wedding — they both happened the same day err night and it’s so romantic!
Debbie’s sharing is in answer to my question on getting married on a leap year. Read on
In answer to your question, yes, I proposed and was married on Feb. 29, 2008. My ‘partner’ and I had been together quite a few years and had talked about getting married. Somehow it was just never the right time. Then over the Christmas holiday something really momentous happened and now I was free in my mind to move on from the past and marry my Mr. Right. About the middle of Feb. he had to travel away for a week and I decided that I wanted to propose in a very big way. Before I knew it I was asking the ‘Community Club’ in our town if they would consider hosting a dance on Leap Year Day. They could charge for tickets and make some money for the community and I would have a venue to stage my proposal.
You just know a story like this is going to be really big in a small town. Virtually everyone knew about it, and everyone was great about helping to keep it a secret. The ‘bride-groom’ came home about 5 days before the dance and I had everything arranged, even a cake!
Now my biggest challenge would be talking him into going to the dance in the first place. It was all pre-arranged with the band. They would take a break from their first set at about 11:30 PM, I would come out on the stage, make the proposal, presumably he would accept, marriage commissioner would appear on-stage and we would be married before midnight.
Everything went just as planned and the entire town has something that they still talk about now.All in all, I highly recommend it,
Thanks for letting me share. Debbie
Thank YOU Debbie for sharing. Much appreciated!
If you can send me a wedding picture to include in this picture, that’ll be great too

This is so romantic! One of the most wedding proposals I’ve heart/seen in a long time!
George proposed to her girlfriend (now fiancee) Sara using an elaborate ruse of an art gallery exhibit. The photos say it all. You have to watch. Your heart will just melt.
I wish my husband did something like this for me!

Valentine’s Day Wedding Proposal Ideas

So, if you’ve got a significant other, would you want to propose marriage (or be proposed to) on Valentine’s Day? If you plan to propose marriage on Valentine’s Day, here are several ways you can do it and if you have done so, I’d be keen to feature it here on Our One Heart!
# Have her serenaded on Valentine’s Day. You can hire a singer to surprise her with a Valentine’s song, such as ‘My Funny Valentine’ or Martina McBride’s ‘Valentine’. Or, serenade her yourself and end with the proposal!
# Give her a heart shaped box of chocolates, with one chocolate missing and an engagement ring in it’s place. When she opens the box, get down on one knee and pop the question.
# Get a box of children’s Valentine cards. Put a different message in each one, such as “I want to spend the rest of my life with you”. Have the last one that she opens say “Will you marry me?”.
# On Valentine’s Day, use the little heart candies and spell out the words ‘Marry Me’ with them. For extra romance, only use the hearts that say ‘Marry Me’ on them.

Wanted: $2.5 Million Super Bowl Spot for free

Advertising Age is running a story about one prospective groom who is planning to turn his marriage
proposal into a Super Bowl advertising event. Keeping his identity secret, J.P wants to propose to his girlfriend at the event and had set up MySuperProposal.com to try and raise the money that he needed to air a commercial.
The bad news is that he is only at $100,000, and is now trying to find a marketer who instead will put him in his ad.
The good news is that any money he raises will go to the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.
Now he has changed approach it seems that he is getting a lot of interest from companies wanting to get on board with the publicity - let’s hope his girlfriend has the same level of interest and says “Yes!”
The Modern Way of Popping the Question?

My nephew who is only 20 and a musician, decided to pop the question this Christmas. He bought his girlfriend a MP3
player and on it was a song that he had composed which was called “Make my life complete” and during it he asks her to marry him! How cool is that, of course it helps that he is a good musician and singer but the idea blew away his girlfriend…and of course she said “Yes”. He gave a copy of the song to us all as a way of us remembering the event.
Romance is still alive….
