The female is actually sporting pearls and a veil while the male is beefed up in a tux. These two dogs are truly appropriately dressed for the occasion. I wonder if they know the sort of commitment they’re getting into and who’s presiding over the ceremony? I can only imagine how much effort they’ve put in planning this wedding. I sure hope that Mocha and Levi prepared more than a set of barks for their wedding vows.

I’ve known folks who dress up their pets on occasion; in shirts or some costume for Halloween or Christmas, but to dress them up for a wedding? It’s the first time I’ve ever encountered such a thing. It’s either the owners want to appreciate their pets or they just simply have a lot of time on their hands. Regardless, it’s still adorable.

I didn’t realise there’s even a site dedicated to ‘Halloweddings’ — cute, isn’t it?

For the bride’s ensemble, you can have what you call a “Spooky Formal:” A black velvet gown with “vamp” sleeves, velvet-and-tulle veil decorated with skull beads, and a sort of Romantic Gothic hairstyle and accessories.

You can decorate the wedding reception venue as you would decorate your house for halloween!

I wonder what the guests would wear? Would you want an all-out costume party for the bridal party and your guests?

Want to have a unique wedding that reminds you of childhood experiences? Why not exchange marriage vows on a ferris wheel? Just make sure you and your spouse (or your officiating minister/judge/priest) don’t get airsick aboard the ferris wheel!

When Tabitha stepped into the swinging gondola of the ferris wheel at the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo on Saturday, her last name was Lund.

A few rotations and a ring later, she was Tabitha Brown, the wife of Chris Brown of Richland.

The couple, who met through friends and have been dating since 2005, have been thinking about getting married for “for a while,” said Tabitha, 34, but couldn’t decide when or where.

But they wanted to do something really different, said Christina O’Brien of Richland, Tabitha’s maid of honor.

When the couple discovered radio station 94.9 The Wolf was running a contest for a ferris wheel wedding at the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo, with a corn dog and cotton candy reception, they figured that topped the unusual wedding list.

Throw in a reception from rodeo princesses, sharing a cramped gondola 100 feet above the ground with a fuzzy wolf radio mascot and a reverend, and you can pretty much call it unique.

But even in a carnival atmosphere, a bride still gets the jitters. Especially when you only have a few days to plan the wedding.

Tabitha was notified three days ago that the couple’s entry had been randomly drawn from some 30 hopefuls.

“She didn’t have a dress or anything,” O’Brien said.

But by 3 p.m. Saturday, when the ceremony was scheduled, Tabitha, who is a student, looked stunning and a little overdressed for the midway crowd that seemed oblivious to the wedding party.

She wore an off-white, halter-top dress with a pleated skirt that dipped below her knees, a white veil held in place with a crystal-studded comb, and held a bouquet of red and white lilies.

Then the couple was led to the Bill Beck Memorial Gazebo, where picnic tables were draped in gingham. Plastic champagne flutes waited on tables, as well as bags of cotton candy. Freshly fried corn dogs were stacked in a pyramid on a separate table, with bowls of ketchup and mustard. A second table held a sheet cake, decorated with congratulations.

After the reception, the bride and groom were whisked away by a limousine to the Clover Island Inn, which donated a honeymoon suite for the celebration. They also will receive 60 years of fair tickets, which will help the groom appropriately celebrate upcoming anniversaries.

“I haven’t been to the fair in years,” he said.

This is one they won’t forget.

“It went really well,” said Tabitha.

I saw on the news that a British couple, Darren and Katie McWalters tied the knot while wing walking. What is wing walking you ask? According to Wikipedia, Wing Walking is “the act of moving on the wings of an airplane during flight”

Even their minister who tied the knot was on top of a plane to marry them. Amazing eh?

A daring couple had their head in the clouds as they married on top of the wings of three planes today – 1,000 feet above the ground.

Groom Darren McWalters, 24, stood on the top wing of a biplane while his bride Katie Hodgson, 23, flew along side on the wing of an identical aircraft – dressed in full bridal gown.

Rev George Bringham flew ahead of the couple on the wings of a third aircraft and brought the Lancashire couple together in holy matrimony over an airborne communications system.

The ceremony was played through loud speakers throughout RFC Rendcomb Airfield, near Cirencester, Gloucestershire, to the congregation waiting on the ground below.

Jets of white smoke fired from the back of the aeroplane as the couple exchanged their vows in mid-air.

Heavy winds and rain cut the flight short and the couple, from Leyland, were rushed inside.

Fitness Instructor Mr McWalters said: ‘We got engaged in the Brazilian rain forest and I wanted a wedding blessing that would top my proposal.

‘It was unbelievable. Looking down and seeing my family and friends below was just incredible.I’m lost for words.’

Postwoman Ms Hodgson said when she was a young girl she never imagined she would wed on the wings of a plane.

Grooms-to-be (or brides!), don’t try this at home…unless you’re an accomplished skydiver! But what about skydiving to your wedding venue to make a grand entrance eh??? So that you don’t piss your future spouse, you can bring him or her a gift or perhaps the wedding bouquet?

It is supposed to be the happiest day of any woman’s life but an Indian air force official Sunday decided he could upstage his future wife — by dropping in from 7,000 feet (2,100 metres).

Shisir Mishra, an accomplished sky diver, jumped from a helicopter and landed in a sports ground close to the bride’s home in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Orissa state.

Mishra, along with three friends jumped free fall before opening his parachute a few hundred feet from the ground and landing to cheers from hundreds of well-wishers at the wedding ceremony.

“The idea of doing something on the occasion of my marriage struck me after I read about a couple in Maharashtra (state) getting married in a hot air balloon recently,” said Mishra, whose bride gifted him a bouquet on arrival.

“Not for a moment was I scared. I was sure he would make it,” bride Sweta Prusty said.

Mishra previously won a place in the Limca Book of Records — the Indian equivalent of the Guinness World Records — for jumping free fall from 15,000 feet with the Indian national flag in hand.

Most people going to their local supermarket leave with a trolley full of groceries. However, tomorrow, one Dundee couple will be leaving with a lifetime commitment.

Kenny Sutherland and Jane Clark are getting married at Sainsbury’s in Baldovie Road, where they both work.

The couple will take their vows surrounded by family and friends while customers fill their trolleys and staff continue to work away.

To show their support, colleagues at the store have put up posters congratulating the couple on the happy occasion.

Jane (42) will begin her bridal march through the seasonal goods aisle to Mika’s “Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)”, with the ceremony taking place in front of the flower stand at the store’s main entrance.

Checkout girl Jane first met Kenny three years ago after she spotted him replenishing shelves in the store’s kiosk — and it was love at first sight.

Despite the unusual wedding venue, the bride said she is looking forward to her big day, adding, “I’m not nervous at all.

“I’m just looking forward to it as all my family and friends are going to be there.

“There will be a lot of customers there, too, and a lot of those customers have become friends. I even got a bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne handed in from one customer while on the checkout.”

A spokeswoman from Sainsbury’s added, “We are thrilled to be supportive of our colleagues and wish them all the best.”

While most grooms spend the day before their wedding double-checking their tuxedo, Serge Cormier was making sure his radio cables were in good working order.

The 30-year-old man was gearing up for Saturday’s ceremony in Moncton, N.B., by taking matrimony to a new – and very public – technological level.

Cormier and his fiancee, Yanbing Zou, who is originally from China, say they could be the first couple in Canada to broadcast their wedding on radio, setting up a limited-duration station known as WED-FM just for the occasion.

“A lot of people in China were not able to attend, so they will be able to listen to us online, live as it happens,” he said in an interview on Friday.

The radio broadcast is available only in the Moncton area, although an audio feed will be available on the Internet as well.

Cormier said wedding broadcasts are more common in Europe, but are new to North America.

“That’s why there’s a lot of interest,” said Cormier.

The couple met at the University of New Brunswick, but now live in the Toronto area.

Cormier said his fiancee was a “little shy” when he first mentioned the idea, but she warmed to it because her relatives can listen online.

“It allows us to express to the world how much we love each other by broadcasting our wedding to the world,” he said.
