I was browsing the web for reasonably-priced but stylish bridesmaid dresses for a friend of mine who is getting married at the end of the year and I found this site — Valentine’s Promise that seem to sell budget but elegant-looking bridesmaid dresses.
If you’re one of those budget-conscious brides, you might find the site useful. Here’s 5 of my favorite bridesmaid dresses all of them at under $100 each. These dresses are also available in other colors!

I like the black dress. Being Asian, not sure how it’ll go down with my friend though. Hmmm

Risque Wedding Gown: Nipple Slip anyone?

While I’m all for doing something different or unusual at your wedding, I’m not sure if I can carry this lovely wedding gown designed by Scott Corridan.

Image: Kleinfeld Bridal
Lovely gown isn’t it? Kleinfeld Bridal describes it as a princess/ball gown style with long sleeves where the primary fabric is satin. What’s nice about the gown is the italian mohair over embroidered applique top.
What I don’t like about it?

Well…the mohair doesn’t leave much to the imagination. If you’re confident about your ‘carriage’, you can go bra-less under this gorgeous gown. I just wonder if the reverend will be able to concentrate on the ceremony though? LOL
If you’re like me and you don’t want to leave some to people’s imagine, you can wear a pair of nude bra under a nude colour tube top to prevent any possible nipple slip.
Hiring a Bridal Make-Up Artist

I can’t stress enough regarding the importance of your bridal make-up. Spend time to plan for it. Consider things you need to do before making that big decision.

From my own experience, here are the things you have to consider before making that decision, ie the right bridal make-up artist for you:
Your Budget - Consider your own budget. You may want the make-up artist to the stars but if his/her fee is more than your budget for your wedding reception then perhaps it is time to consider someone within your wedding budget. Be realistic. There are so many other great make-up artist out there that will not break your bank account.
Consultation - There is no shame in meeting with prospective bridal make-up artists. Go and meet them. See what they’re like. If you have the budget, go for bridal make-up trials (this costs though). It is important that you are comfortable with your make-up artist and that you can tell him or her whether you like something or not. There’s nothing worse than looking like a zombie or a kabuki doll at your wedding because you were too afraid of or overwhelmed with your make-up artist. Remember, it is your special day. You can tell your make-up artist if you think the make-up is too heavy for your liking. You won’t be branded as a bridezilla if you request things kindly.
Endurance - Get your photos taken by your friend of fiance after you’ve had your make-up trial. Go out and party! See how long the make-up last. At the end of your partying, check what you look like. If your make-up has vanished at the end of the evening then your make-up has failed the endurance test. I did this for the two make-up trials I had for my own wedding. At the end of these 2 trials and some good partying :-), I was able to decide which one I liked the most. Judging from my photos and comments from well-wishes at our wedding, I have no regrets
Good luck in finding the make-up artist that works for you!

Spring is upon us and according to the wedding fashion experts, spring is the year of knee-length wedding gowns! I have attended a wedding where the bride wore a knee-length wedding dress. It was her 3rd wedding. I wonder if that has something to do with her choice to go a bit casual on her wedding day?
I love the red shoes!
What about this one?
