Crista said there are 4 basic types of wedding bouquets.

1. The round, posey, or nosegay bouquet is the most popular type of bridal bouquet right now. This bouquet is usually small, round and compact enough for the bride to hold in one hand if she needs to. One of the biggest pluses for this type of bouquet is that it doesn’t hide the brides gown.
2. The cascade is the most formal and traditional type of bridal bouquet. The cascade trails down the dress, and tends to be more ornate than other types of bouquet. Because it cascades it can hide part of the dress, and be a little more awkward to handle.
3. The hand tied bouquet tends to be the least formal. The stems on the flowers are cut even, and the top is open, like flowers in a vase. The stems can be either wrapped or unwrapped. The hand tied bouquet tends to be more casual.
4. The arm or presentation bouquet usually sits over one arm. This type of bouquet can be very ornate if there’s lots of flowers or beading.

Crista says the bride should consider what they want when they walk down the aisle, and how comfortable they will be holding their flowers before deciding what type of bouquet to carry down the aisle.

Let’s start with the dress. If you want something a little different than the usual white or ivory, pink is a very elegant color for a bridal gown.

Here is a pink tablescape to give you a few ideas for your table decorations. I love the bright bold orange and fuchsia centerpiece. Covered chairs are a great way to add an extra splash of your wedding color, and make things just a little more elegant.

Following the usual way that brides narrow down their choices and how I made mine, of course, I’ll try to list down the main things considered as one makes her decision:

• Favorite flowers
• Color selection
• Wedding dress design
• Available flower arrangements
• Florist style
• Ornaments

These are listed in random. It will depend on how one will find each as important.

The reasons remain simple. A bride will always want to use her favorite flowers especially if we’re talking about the bride’s bouquet. She’ll be opting for to get them in the color theme of her wedding or perhaps make the color of the flowers as the wedding color theme. Arrangement and florist style will have to match or complement the wedding dress and decide on the ornaments soon after that, i.e. natural ornaments in the form of leaves and such or precious (or semi) stones or ribbons, etc.

Take for example how this lady decided on her wedding flowers:

Mine will be bigger but will combine these flowers: hyacinth, gloriosa lilies, hypericum berries, ranunculus, open tulips, anemones. All the guys will have really simple boutonnières with chartreuse hypericum berries and greenery, except for Jimmy, who will have red hypericum berries and a few hyacinth blooms to match my flowers.

One example is the Cherry Blossoms theme available at the Diamond Hotel.

According to Wedding Fact Sheet, this particular wedding theme “portrays the soft side of Japanese pop art and natural elements. The effect is almost Zen-like with the use of pastels and muted hues and a tranquil feel that soothes the soul. For this package, the hotel’s famed Yurakuen Restaurant prepares a banquet, with platter after platter of tasty Japanese dishes that can only astound guests for their pure taste.”

It reminded me of the Anime and Manga inspired wedding cake topper. I think it will go well with the Cherry Blossoms theme — a solid Japanese theme which gives the impression of youthful fun, spring freshness and a relaxing feel. Yea, the wedding theme would be perfect for Spring weddings and will tickle the fancy of couples who are into the whole Japanese inspiration.

Wouldn’t it be adorable to have your bridesmaids wear a single cherry blossom on their hair? Or perhaps have your photo taken under a shower of cherry blossoms? It’ll certainly be different if you end up using cherry blossoms as your core wedding flower over the usual tulips, roses, poppies, etc. Anyway, I hope this helps inspire you to play with pastels and cherry blossoms to create that soothing atmosphere for your own wedding celebration.

Aren’t these centerpieces truly refreshing? Perfect for summer weddings! Wedding stylist Preston Bailey shows you how you can do these yourselves!

Here are a few of Preston Bailey’s tips:

- You need to decide what kind of flowers you want to use, I chose all white ones to go along the lines of refreshing but I think color would look fabulous as well.
- Don’t forget to get flowers to float as well I used gardenias which are perfect little floaters and smell terrific.
- Next you need to cut your flowers but make sure to do them in all different heights as it adds layers to your centerpiece. Tie your different bouquets up and sink your vases in the water and add your flowers.
- Since you can see the little vases we tried to add some texture by wrapping them in beeswax and putting a ti leaf in the bottom to hide the stems.
- Don’t forget to coordinate your table setting with your flowers! Your guests are going to be so impressed!
